If you're looking to spend time in nature, this is the place. It's free and there is always something to see. The paths are wide, well maintained and solid enough to ride a bike on with no problems. You are almost guaranteed to see gators on every visit, along with hundreds of birds wading through the wetlands. Such a great... More

Great park very quiet two trails that are several miles long surrounding wetlands and a lake, be sure to bring sunscreen and bug repellent. Great short day trip to a very quiet place away from the crowds

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip here today. The variety and proximity of waterfowl were amazing, and it was unlike anything we'd ever done before. There are volunteers on golf carts who will drive you around and chat about the sights. If I lived in Orlando, I would come here every weekend. Pack water and something to put... More

Neat to explore this area on a cool winter day. Alligators and water fowl abound, but most trails are very exposed so not to do in high heat or without sunscreen. We ended up hiking about 8 miles across the various filtration reservoirs and long the back of the property where it meets up with the Florida Trail. There is... More

We were tipped off about this fascinating place by a volunteer at the Fort Christmas Historical Park which is nearby. And, were we glad! How interesting! This is a man-made wetlands created by reclaimed discharge from the Bridge Plant in South Seminole County. A 75-acre lake was created which provided fill for the berm construction that surround the 18 wetland... More

This place was a jewel of places to visit. Volunteers and friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of area and wildlife. For a donations volunteers will take you on a golf cart tour and provide lots of information on wildlife. From alligators, racoons, turtles and otters to so many species of birds I lost track. You have to make this a destination soon.

My partner and I visited Orlando Wetlands in March this year on the recommendation of a visitor we met at Merritt Island. It is a wetland area that acts as a water treatment plant for Orlando, taking in waste water, passing it through the reedbeds and out into the St John River, cleaner than the river water itself. The area... More

Went to the Orlando Wetlands Park looking for some wildlife photo opportunities. I did not walk a long way, but I did see a Great Blue Heron, a Great Egret and a flock of Sand Hill Cranes. However, they were pretty far off. The wetlands are so large, it is hard to get a close up of the wildlife. The... More

One of our favorite Nature spots in Florida. Didn't get to visit last year because we were in the area January. They are closed between Nov and January. The best part of this visit was actually getting close enough to a pair of crested Caracara to be able to take pictures. We have seen them in the distance before, but... More
