This is the City of Orlando’s Iron Bridge Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. Big parking lot, great restrooms, drinking fountain, map of the wetlands provided, large pavilion with about 14 picnic tables. I went the last part of Feb. The park is closed the middle of Nov through the end of January. Lots of migrating birds within easy eyesight. We took... More

Last year we did some central Florida birding from an Orlando base, and returned for more of the same early this month. Having researched sites again this time, we never came across a mention of this location. Fortunately a gentleman we were talking to at Merritt Island NWR said we shouldn't miss it, so we visited the next day. Although... More

I can't believe I have been in Florida for 24 years and missed this one. I went there this weekend and it was awesome and beautiful. It is undisturbed Florida land with a million types of wildlife. There are alligators all over the place which cross the road you are on all the time to get to the other side... More

The wetlands are beautiful. We were fortunate enough to arrive at just the right time to join a golf cart tour given by the volunteers..it was awesome! The wetlands will close November 15 and reopen Feb 1. If you love nature this is the place to go..

Miles of roads, incredible wildlife everywhere. Nice get away from the City. Bring your bike to see more of the park.

This is a nice ride or hike in good weather. We went with a bicycle meetup group on Memorial Day morning and there was hardly anyone in the preserve, which was nice. We saw lots of wildlife (birds, alligators, turtles, snakes) and it's very peaceful. You're in full sun, so make sure to wear a hat, sunglasses & bring sunscreen... More

Miles and miles of trails. I went to take pictures of birds, and decided to bike it instead of walk. Very pretty, just for a walk or ride. But if you happen to be a photographer, it's heaven. Many alligators, mammals and different birds.

If you enjoy nature, walking, Alligators and wildlife, then you will enjoy it here. It's almost prehistoric in its appearance, You can imagine this is how Florida should look before Walt rode into town. We went on a 'cold' day so it was very easy to walk 5+ miles and not worry about the heat. We must have sen 100's... More

This is actually a water treatment site for the City of Orlando. However, instead of treatment plants and chemicals, the city bought 1600 acres and built marshes that purify the water. At the last marsh, water drains into the local river actually 5 times cleaner than the river itself. We saw a stunning array of bird life, plus otters, turtles,... More

If you enjoy walking (or biking) this is a great spot to get in touch with nature. We see lots of wildlife every time we visit. our first trip this year was cold (for Florida), but we still saw lots of wading birds, eagle, limpkin, young raccoons. You can't drive thru this wetlands like some others, but on some days... More
