Relaxing

Great get away. Not for those looking for something exciting. If you want a relaxing place, this is the place. Great beach.

Be aware that SGI,FL now has a"leave nothing behind"policy. No more leaving chairs, etc.on the beach. It seems the powers have decided turtles are more important than the tourists that actually spend money that supports the island. I loved not hauling my chairs to the beach everyday, but no more! Turtles are more important then those of us who spend so much... More

My husband and I have stayed for 4 days in April 2014 and 4 days in March 2015. Our stay was very relaxing and enjoyed the oceans and the bay. The restaurants in the area were great. We went two times to Appalachacola and went through various historic locations. The facilities at 949 E Pine @ 2 Palms Retreat location... More

Went here for spring break it is a very nice place the homes here are beautiful. However the homes are spaced extremely far apart for some reason not utilizing valuable space. Their are no high rises, shopping malls, and very few restaunts. Definitely in need of some serious improvements but still a nice place to visit for a day.

My husband decided to try somewhere different this year that's how we ended up here. The beach is ok. There is no shelling. Fishing is great for my husband. Weather here is not that great. Sunny, cloudy, foggy. Very few restaurants. Not good food. Most stores close at 6. If they are even open. On a rainy day there is... More

This was a very relaxing trip with friends to the beach. It was a little cold, but the atmosphere was so good it didn't matter. We had a nice picnic on a clean beach. It was super quiet and peaceful.

St. George Island is a awesome place. The beaches are so desolate and are very dog friendly. No fast food or high rises on the island, just small local businesses. We stayed for 6 weeks and booked our place already for 2016.

We spent 5 nights in St. George Island last October. We had never been there before so we didn't know what to expect. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon from the Metro Atlanta area. We were staying in a small 1 BR cottage on the beach that we booked through Collins Vacation Rentals. What a wonderful little beach town. It... More

St George is a beautiful island. There are no fast food restaurants on local owned. Took our children while they were young and we still go with our extended family. St George Island is a place for family time. You find your own fun with your children and their closeness grows. They state park has lovely trails to walk and... More

Flew my drone around this lighthouse for some really great shots, and then out over the peaceful beaches. Had drinks at the Blue Parrot and felt in general as if I had stepped into a Jimmy Buffett song. Love It!
