The Housatonic is a great river especially in Salisbury and Cornwall. You can paddle it or fly fish. Some great picnic spots off the river near The Great Falls in Falls Village.

I live nearby, so it's not much of a trip for me to get on the Housatonic. I mostly fish the upper Trout Management Area, between Cornwall Bridge and Salisbury. The wadeable parts are in Cornwall.
