The White River NF area is still fairly remote and less crowded compared to other Colorado locations. We typically camp at the Chapman Campground which sits right on the Frying Pan River as it runs into the Ruedi Reservoir. I have never seen it crowded. We typically caught our fish limit by lunch every day. Wonderful location to get away...

We are staying in Avon in the Vail Valley. Both the ranger in the national forest and a local resident gave us a list of their favite hikes - especially now the fall colors are in full ffect. Some hikes go through the aspen groves, some on cliff edges with vallley views and the Eagle Nest wilderness gets views across...
