The previous two reviews have very good descriptions about the free tour, and the tour touches on more than just engineering, but also history and culture at the time. Just one more tip here. Signed into the Guest Log at the Visitor Center, then watched the picturesque view of Shasta Dam and the magnificent power it produces. Sure gives you an appreciation of what it does.
