This is one place that you can only truly experience by getting out of the car and hiking into the woods.

Pictures can not do this trip justice, you must stand among these Giants to experience for yourself the majesty of the forest.

The views are pretty awesome. Pop open your sunroof to really enjoy the scale of these behemoth trees! You should also get out and hug one of them. They're quite a bit older than you...

I have seen them before near San Francisco... but those are nothing like the old growth trees at Ave. Of the Giants. These were magnificent. Theres lots of little stops along the way so keep watch while driving. We almost missed the tree we could drive through.

Theirs is definitely the best of the Redwoods. All along the drive even along Big Sur down to... More

If you have time, definitely take this road! It's not much longer and it's just truly beautiful! Giants trees for miles! Coming from Montreal & Sakskatoon, it's not everyday we've seen anything like this! :)

Beautiful drive, but make sure you take some time to get out of your car & explore a few places. There are several good stops that can be short but very worthy - The Founder's Tree being one. Photo opportunities abound in this gorgeous setting. Take time to notice the flowers, ferns, snails, moss, and whatever else you can. There's... More
