This is a great place to get your "feet wet" with regard to ease of seeing MONSTER trees. You can just drive past them, or stop and hike around trails with them. We were told by a local the best tree viewing would be at Founders grove. We were not disappointed! There is a really cool root ball there that... More

It was a lot of fun driving (and hiking) through these giants. We've been to other areas of redwoods, but none where you experience them mile after mile. It was humbling and awe inspiring.

A most memorable experience and one of my favourite after 3 weeks in 9 States. I am not sure where the road will go when these giant redwoods get too wide as they are right up to the edge of the bitumen in some places. Great to park the car and walk amongst the upright and fallen trees. At times... More

Beautiful auto tour through the Redwoods with lots of stops along the way, so you can get out of the car and walk the trails. We especially liked the Drury/Chaney Grove (stop #8). This 2.4 mile trail is wheelchair friendly. This trail allowed our entire family to get out and enjoy the beauty of the Redwood Giants together!!

We visited the Avenue of the Giants in Humboldt Redwoods State Park. Redwood groves in which we hiked included the Bolling, Rockefeller, Giant Tree, Founders Grove, and the Giant Tree. We looked through the visitor center for about 30 minutes where there was a education about the history of the groves both as a logging area and as a protected... More

We to the scenic drive detour off Highway 101 as we drove from Ferndale to Mendcini. The Redwoods are simply magnificent and if you talk a walk down one of the trail heads it is difficult to resist the temptation to constantly click your camera shutter. Each corner gives a new vista. However, I have seen better having taken the... More

What a gorgeous drive through the spectacular redwoods. Plenty of places to turn aside and spend a few minutes rambling through the giant trees.

A relatively short drive that gets you off the 101 and into the Forest and then back. Plenty of places to get out of your car and go on trails to explore the Redwoods.

No tree is as majestic as the lofty sun-seeking Giant redwoods, and the Avenue of the Giants is chock filled with them. And nestled in those mighty trees are several small towns to grab a bite or souvenir and hiking trails of varying levels - all with awe-inspiring vistas! You can take a bus up here, but to truly appreciate... More
