Beautiful and picturesque. Would make a great family outing. It reminded us just how small we really are. :-)

Drive along with amazing road, stop periodically, hike into a redwood grove or along a trail, picnic in peace, and realize how lucky you are to be in this magical and unique and awe-inspiring place.

This stretch of northern California is beautiful. We went to see big trees and that's what we did. The size of these trees and the groves they were in just left you in awe. I had seen the big trees before, but that was 55 years ago. They haven't changed much! The ecosystem in these groves of redwoods is very... More

Driving 101 through this area you get a glimpse of the beauty but exit off and take the old hwy and it is amazingly beautiful. The grove of redwoods are something not to miss. Hopefully you have a sunroof or stop and get out to take in the magesty of these trees. There are plenty of pull outs along with... More

I came through here in my '66 Ford Mustang and it was one of my favorite drives of a 10,000 mile road trip. The scenery is absolutely beautiful - it is wild how it can be a completely sunny day but shady and almost dark inside the forest. The roads are well-maintained and deliciously twisty, which provided awesome driving. There's... More

Use your moonroof or put the top down. Be sure to get out and hug a tree. Stand next to these giant, take lots of photos. Use all of the pull offs. Take your time. Enjoy. The majesty of these trees is really overwhelming. Don't hurry.

The Avenue of the Giants is beautiful and everyone should experience it! There is no way to describe how big the trees are, or the feeling you will have as you stand among them. As you drive along, there are many opportunities to pull off to the side of the road, and a number of trails, so lots of ways... More

As soon as I turned on to the Avenue of the Giants, I had to stop at the first available pullover, as I was mesmerized by the giant redwoods. The giant redwoods were one of the highlights of my 2012 trip. They are a must see.

This wonder of nature features grove after grove of giant redwoods. There are a multitude of walking and hiking trails ranging from long hikes to easy walks. Take your time and just let it sort of overwhelm you.

I can't even title this review, because these trees render me speechless. There are many places along the California coast to see redwoods, and they are all worth a detour.
