There is nothing to dislike. This drive is absolutely gorgeous. Pull over at any of the pulloffs and enjoy!

The drive through this road is breathtaking. Tallllllll trees, and the run seeping through. It is otherworldly. There are several stops you can make. Unfortunately We did stop as we were there at the end of the day, but I intend to get back there some day.

Avenue of the Giants is worth the time. Make sure to pick up the Auto Tour brochure at either entrance. We did the Mahan Plaque Trail Loop with our small children (1-7) and it was perfect!

The Avenue of the Giants is a remarkable drive through several groves of giant redwood trees, the total length is around 30 miles and you should plan for 2-8 hours. It is truly spectacular and a must see. The visitors center was a welcomed stop with park employees that were helpful and very knowledgeable about the redwoods. If you are... More

This scenic drive is well worth the time and effort. We thoroughly were in awe of the incredible gigantic redwood trees especially those featured in the Rockefeller Forest. Take the time to venture into some of the turn offs and walk through the woods among the towering giants. There were not a lot of people venturing here at this time... More

This is a nature lover/hiker/mountain biker paradise. Only place that I've ever felt so close to Gaia. Very good experience.

Thought we could do half a day here but there is SO much to do on this drive and the trees are just unbelieveable. Pictures do not do this area justice. The actual drive is something like 31 miles but there are turn offs everywhere and it's all interesting. Going this time of year a lot of places were closed... More

Exit the 101 and drive over twenty miles along the Eel River, through seemingly endless groves of redwoods. Be sure to stop at the visitor center and pick up a book on the area. There are excellent state park campgrounds along this route. Plan to stay for two or more days.
