This is one of the most beautiful and scenic drives I have ever taken. The roadside stops, stores, and short trails make this an all day possibility. The natural beauty and intimidating presence of trees this big in such density is truly humbling. We left Ft. Bragg early and had most of the road to ourselves until the early afternoon.... More

Was doing SF to Vegas roadtrip. Having come from UK could not miss out on seeing the Mighty Redwoods. Stopped at Phillipsville. The drive up was definitely worth it just to drive the 31 mile long Avenue of Giants. To stand next to one is a humbling experience. So glad we went out of our way to see them and... More

We traveled the Avenue of Giants from South to North, and enjoyed stopping at One Log House, Chimney Tree, and the Visitor Center with the log RV.

Drove this from north to south with my wife starting a bit after 8AM on a Tuesday. Almost no other vehicles were on the road, and it added perhaps half an hour over what it would have taken on the 101. We weren't able to make stops because of time constraints, but it was a beautiful drive and well worth... More

Well worth taking this scenic drive through the Redwoods. The redwoods are magnificent. The Visitor Center is well worth a stop. The historic redwood "RV" is very interesting (http://www.mendorailhistory.org/1_redwoods/birdman_kellogg.htm and http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1521510).

If you love nature and giant redwoods, this is the place to explore. There is enough nature and hiking trails to explore. I was able to bring my bike and ride around, take pictures and enjoy the fresh air.

We had stopped/traveled through Redwood NP and was really disappointed until we caught wind of A/G. We quickly looked up how to get to this attraction and got onto the old hwy 101. A 31 miles slow travel through some of the most amazing trees/groves of Redwoods I have ever seen. Plenty of pull-outs and places to get pictures with... More

30 years ago my parents took me to see the redwoods and I couldn't wait to take my family. They weren't interested in going, but when we got there my husband pulled over so he could look up since the bottoms are so huge. My 13 yr old thanked me for bringing him. There are so many and they are... More

I've seen pictures. I've heard stories. Nothing did it justice. These trees are absoutely amazing. For 20 years I have wanted to see the the giant redwoods and finally getting the opportunity to do so was one of the best experiences of my life. To think these giants are over 2000 years old is amazing. The drive up the Avenue... More

On our way to SFO from EUREKA/ ARCATA Hotel ,we reached this spot in one hour. We have to drive through this HUMBOLDT Redwoods State Park with very tall giant Redwood trees on both sides of the road for nearly 32 miles, enjoying halts for hiking at Chandler Groove #7 & Dyerville Overlook #6 stops. The hiking thro' trails for... More
