What a beautiful, huge lake! We drove around it - 80 miles. Emerald Bay was my favorite. Most of the lake is commercialized, but the West side has some campgrounds.

It's a shame if u go all the way to CA and not go here.. U can do cruise and a lot of other activities. However we chose to stay on the shore and take pictures and enjoy the natural scenic beauty! It's a whole lot of driving up the mountain and stopping at vista points to take pictures/watch the... More

We had planned on just paying one of the rafting companies in Tahoe City to set us up on a raft to float down the river, but we kept seeing lots of people on individual blue and white tubes and thought that looked like so much more fun than being stuck in a raft all together and not even in... Lake Tahoe is one of the world's spectacular mountain lakes sitting at an altitude of 6,229 feet. It is framed by the magnificent Sierra Nevada mountains We have enjoyed doing a variety of activities in the Lake Tahoe area. We have enjoyed Lake Cruises as well as renting a small boat and exploring the lake ourselves. We have enjoyed exploring... More

We rented a house on Airbnb.com and stayed two nights from 4 of July. It is amazing place for jogging, hiking, cycling, kayaking etc. Fireworks on the lake was fantastic. Nice sandy Kings beach. Water is too cold to spend more than 5 min in it. Do not forget to use your sun cream.

“Did you ever wonder how the lake was formed or its history, as far who were the first people arriving and occupying the region?” “I have or maybe I’m just weird….” We have been coming up to Tahoe for quite a long time. In the winter, we would make the trip up to enjoy the snow and other outdoor activities... More

If you're looking for something unique to do during your stay in Lake Tahoe, I HIGHLY recommend booking a lake cruise with Safari Rose at Lake Tahoe. My fiance and I were in Tahoe for a couple days before a business trip. This was my first trip to Tahoe, his 4th or 5th. Wanting to do something different we heard... More

Lake Tahoe is simply spectacular. A comfortable drive from Sacramento, through the gold mining townships of California, Lake Tahoe is a Mecca for the outdoors. Crystal clear waters of the lake itself is surrounded by mountainous terrain for easy hiking and camping. But the lake is also easily reached by car. It is hard to believe that there are beaches... This is once in a lifetime experience. The most amazing, wonderful, and perfect creation my eyes had seen. It was magical, breath-taking, and awesome. I could not stop from admiring this perfect landscape, the blue water and the many pine trees laid perfectly along the mountains and surrounding the lake. Had to go back in less than a week for...
