Lake Tahoe offers all kinds of activities for families, from easy and more challenging hiking to boating, water skiing (and snow skiing in winter most years), and many other water and land activities. The mountains are beautiful and smell wonderful. Rent a house/condo where you can cook and eat as families or camp and enjoy sleeping under the stars.

Lake Tahoe is a large Californian lake which measures about 75 miles all round. The water is a deep blue apart from Emerald Bay which fully lives up to its name. There are natural sandy areas round the lake for bathing. We took a half day trip on a paddle steamer to fully appreciate its beauty. We would advise staying to... More

this was our lunch stop for the 1st day on our ati western bonanza tour and I enjoyed the location. we had time to go to the beach and if we had packed our cosy, we would have had time for a swim. however, I did not notice anyone in the water, maybe it was too cold. there were people... More

Put Lake Tahoe on your bucket list. The ride through the mountains can be a little daunting but the Lake is well worth it. It has attractions for all ages and the Lake itself is fantastic. Do yourself a favorite and take the tour boat ride

Despite the low water, fishing for trophy rainbows is good. The water clarity is superb, the water temperatures are a bit high and baitfish and crayfish populations seem about normal.

It's a cozy and funny place to visit. If you like skiing I highly recommend, there are great hills. They have good restaurants and hotels too. Its a good place to stay a weekend!

Because we (a couple) went to Lake Tahoe driving from Death Valley, the cool temperature of the area near the lake made good enough impression of this place. If in Death Valley, it was +52 celsius, then here it was a bit more than +20 during day and cooler during night. What a great refreshment! Also, a general memory that... More

What a totally beautiful place. The scenery is spectacular !! And from north lake, west side and south end. Must see Emerald Bay... just puts an exclamation mark on everything. If you visit once, you will want to return.

Lake Tahoe in my opinion is a must see for anyone visiting northern California. We drove from Sacramento to Lake Tahoe, the route was scenic and it was a fun drive (there wasn't any snow or ice on the road tho) There are spectacular views from all sides of the lake but we especially enjoyed the views from Emerald Bay... My wife and I love to come here, the views all around the lake are spectacular. If you like to gamble, the casinos are nice and shows are reasonably priced. Local restaurants are scattered around with choices to pick from. There is something to do whether hiking around the lake, fishing, skiing in winter, shopping or just driving around sight... More
