What an awesome place to camp. We have stayed here twice. The fist time was in Oct 14. In a cabin. Second time in our camp trailer. Boy what a big difference to the park. They have a New manager there and he is whipping that park into shape. Great job. The employees are very friendly and helpful. Cabins a... More

We rented a little cabin on the shore and it was delightful -- AC and everything! There is a small front room with a table and chairs and a bookcase for supplies, then a small bedroom in back with a full size bed and a bunk bed. This is where the AC is. A total life-saver! The beds are very... More

We stayed at this park in late April. Had our pick of level sites. Nice space between the sites, covered picnic tables, restrooms with showers that were in decent shape. There are great views of the lake, hiking trails that take you to petroglyphs, and it was very peaceful. We would definitely stay here again if passing through.

This park is clean, beautiful, and peaceful. There are no crowds, no limits on boat sizes, and very well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. I love that you can hit their market for anything you might have forgotten and they even have gas at reasonable prices. We enjoyed our tent camping but we're really excited to try the... More

Good roads, hook ups, level spots with lots room. Clean restrooms, hot showers. Great views of the lake with almost no crowds. Nice hiking trail, but not much for kids to do. We stayed 3 days in a motor home.

Lyman's State Park is about a 4.5 hour drive from Phoenix. I picked it because it was cooler than Phoenix and had an opening. 2 nights, 1 car permit, 1 dog = $125.00. The cabin had 1 double and a set of bunk beds, 1 table with 4 chairs and a set of shelves. Outside there is a fire pit,... More

Well maintained and clean state park near St John and Springerville. The park is pretty much out in the open with few trees. The stars were spectacular when they were out. We stayed several nights in the cabins which were clean and cozy. The web site shows a yurt but if they are there we didn’t see them. There are... More

We spent the day with family boating and enjoying each other's company. The kids, when not on the boat, loved playing in the water. The cool water helped ease the hot sun. We brought our own canopies for shade, otherwise it may have intolerable.

I have stayed at State and National parks all over the country and was looking forward to Lyman Lake. Even though its lies at altitude, it is a fairly desolate park, with very few trees and therefore minimal shade. The lake is nice; made for boating and the petroglyphs are great. Fishing was so-so and the hiking trails need work.... More

While looking at some property for sale near St. Johns we stumbled across Lyman Lake State Park, a park we had never heard of before. We camped for the night in mid May. We didn't make a reservation but there were just a handful of people in the park so it didn't matter. The store was closed when we arrived... More
