My husband, 3 kids (10, 13, and 16) and I spent 4 nights/5 days houseboating on Lake Powell in mid-August 2015. I was anxious about the trip but it turned out to be absolutely fantastic! Some friends at home (MA) had commented that 'there's no water in it' and that had me a little worried. There is plenty of water... More

First of all, as it may cause distress, the later you book your houseboat, the better your rate will be. We paid $4000 for a 59' houseboat for a week mid-August we booked early this year, only to find out we could have gotten it for half that price had we waited. The video of the Discovery XL is VERY... the National Forest Rangers are well informed and engaging. You will not need to wait for a tour as they offer informal chats with the people they meet.

One the most beautiful places I've been!!! My husband and I went with our SUPs and had a blast. The water was warm, clean and the weather was perfect! The only thing that was not perfect, was the people with power boats with super load music. Takes a little bit of the magic of the place away.

Me and my girl spent 4 days and nights on Lake Powell Aug of 2015. Rernted a 19' boat at Wahweep Marina and explored the lake finding spots to stop and swim along the way. There are literally hundreds of canyons and beaches to explore and hike. We camped on the beaches each night at sunset and had dinner and... More

We have traveled out west from Virginia many times over the years. We have rented RVs (Cruise America) and even powerboats, but houseboating on Lake Powell has always been on our bucket list of things to do. We decided it was time, with our kids being 13 and 9, to go. We booked our reservation through Lake Powell Resorts and... More

America the Beautiful National Parks Pass will get you in. Everyone working here was courteous and helpful. We rented kayaks at Wahweep Marina since all the smaller speed boats had been rented out. Kayaked to a nice grouping of rocks where we could take a short hike, picnic, sunbathe, and swim before paddling back to the marina. The water was... More

Sadly we did not have enough time on our way to Las Vegas to do this place justice. The walk across the road bridge is brilliant and the Carl Hayden Visitor Centre is packed with interesting information from prehistoric times to the building of the bridge and dam. Did not realise that there is more cement in the Glen Canyon... More

I've been to many beautiful places (Caribbean, Hawaiian Islands, SoCal Beaches) but this was simply outstanding. Some canyons on this lake had cliffs so high we couldn't photo the entire thing from our wave runner. The water was crystal clear and in some fingers, turquoise like the waters of the Caribbean. The landscape changes from place to place but is... More
