Nice tourist place to visit during the day and at night. Special opportunity to light a candle in remembrance or honor of others.

Along with some of our dear Cuban friends, we visited the Hill of the Cross in December 2014. We were driven up by our good friend Victor as it was much too hot to climb the over 400 steps to the top. Once arrived to the top, it was not busy... a few locals were sitting around and having a... This was worth every penny we paid for our taxi into town, and I would be in total regret if I had traveled to Holguin without seeing it. Most spectacular view of the city I have ever seen. Unfortunately our taxi drove us to the top but next time I would like to attempt the 500 stairs! Whether you climb... More

It was as expected - photos show you what to expect. Our tour took us to the top so we didn't have to climb the stairs (might have appreciated it more if we took the stairs!). There were lots of 15 year old girls getting there Quinceañera celebration photos. It was like seeing a 'sweet 16' or prom photo. Very... More

My brother-in-law who wanted to see this thing, he didn't even attempt the climb... I would have liked to do other... More

Travel up to the top of the hill and see what the city really looks like. A place also for both reflection and remembrance.

High enough to orientate you to the city of Holguin and the surrounding area. Souvenirs and snacks are available. Taxi, car or bus recommended unless you are a mountain climber.

Each time I visit the city of Holguin I now try and make an effort to climb the many stairs of Loma de la Cruz for exercise, and to experience a great view of the city. Most people drive to the top of the hill for the view, take pictures and perhaps have a beer or snack (there is a... More
