It was a gorgeous view of all of Holguin from the top of the mountain. The cross is beautiful and people go lay flowers and pray there. There is also a restaurant and people have lots of fun partying and dancing there at night. I would go back at night for a meal and dancing!

if you're unlucky you have to walk the 450 steps to get to it, however we had our driver take us direct - lazy yes, but in 33 degree heat rather be lazy than melting into a pool of goo at the top before getting to see the most amazing 360 degree view. AWESOME. There was a small table top... More

It has a great view and it was a fun walk to the top. There is not much at the top but a rather plain cross but the view is good. Try to go when the light is good in the morning.

It was good exercise climbing up the stairs. Wonderful views once at the top. Unfortunately, we were solicited by poor young men who were also climbing the stairs. They targeted my husband and left me alone. He felt sorry for them and gave them money for new shoes.

On one of the excursions from our resort our bus stopped at the bottom of this amazing hill. It has 450 stairs that you can climb, just as the locals use to do to pray for water. It was a +35°C afternoon, but I saw this as a once in a lifetime opportunity so I had to attempt it. Make... More

This was a stop on an excursion we were on while in Cuba. As well as a historically important religious site, there is a tremendous view of Holguin and surrounding areas. Highly recommended for everyone to visit. Just one word of advice - visit the site while on a bus tour, not a horse and buggy tour. The road up... More

Take the time, walk the stairs, 400 + but you won't regret it, so many opportunities to see the whole city. The view from the top is 2nd to none in Holguin, city, mountains and gorgeous countryside.

Did this as part of a new package from Air Canada with VIP service at the airport. The view was stunning from the top and the history of the cross was interesting. After this we were dropped in the middle of Holguin and left by our tour guide instead of being shown around for an hour, wifey and I took... More

You get a fantastic view of the city. You can walk the 475steps down or up if you wish. You will find a canteen at the cross with drinks. You will also find local musicians and of course you illegal cigar selling guy at the steps to con you into buying cheap cigars. Pretty site but after pictures are taken.... More
