It will leave you breathless....

Literally. We chose to take the many steps in the morning sun! Well worth the climb for the view over Holguin and surrounding hills and countryside. Enjoy the climb, take water!

Climbed steps to the top, wonderful view of the city. After completing the climb, stopped at a local restaurant for a much needed bottle of water. My only advise, best not to climb during full sun.

But I wouldn't know, as I'm terrified of heights. Our tour guide said we were stopping at Loma de la Cruz, but gringa here had no idea what "Loma" meant. Well, now I know. I started fiddling around with the cameras, making sure we had memory cards and plenty of batteries, etc., and deleting fuzzy pics from my iPhone to... More

We did this as part of a night visit to Holguin, which was arranged by the rep in the hotel. We arrived at night and could see the cross lit up from miles away. I chose to walk the several hundred steps to the top, rather than take the coach....I earned the first beer.

Spectacular view of the city . Only downfall is there is no restrooms, and of course a few beggers as everywhere else

Wow Fantastic view of Holguin!!! We did not climb the steps but took a Bus to the top. But what a view when you get there. Not a lot to do at the Top but worth a visit!!!

We didn't count the steps, far to busy to keep track, but I believe there are 468, they are tall steps, inconsistent depth, no hand rail and very very intimidating if you look behind you. We're reasonably fit and no strangers to step trainers at the gym and this was a serious challenge and we were delighted that the view... More

A large white cross dominates this hilltop, which provides panoramic views over the city of Holguin and the surrounding countryside. The cross is made of wood, and the current cross is the third in a line dating to 1790. One can hike up to the hilltop; an easier way is to drive the back road to the top. At the... More
