Hike well worth it!

Be prepared for a rigorous hike downhill and again back up. Go early. The pool is cold and you will want sun to warm up.

Not as nice as thought it would be, still a nice trek to it. However expensive to organise transport out to Topes de Collantes

We certainly enjoyed our horse ride across the valley, and riding in the shade and then especially floating about in the pool were a refreshing break from the July heat. We arrived at the pool about 10:30, and by the time we left towards noon, it was very crowded.

We went there with our rental car which was mistake. The latter part of the road down the hill was too bad and we had to leave it on the roadside. There are russian trucks carrying tourist there, take them. The place is superb, the path to the top well maintained and the swimming just great, although rather refreshing. I... More

My spouse and I did the 1.5 hour hike to this amazing mountain waterfall, where we swam for hours in that pristine blue lake. We will never forget that trek, untouched, pure land and pure beauty... which is rare these days. We plan to go back to Trinidad in 2016 and we will hopefully do a similar hike.

We enjoy getting away from cities and experiencing a country's natural side so this presented a good option for us so close to Trinidad. We had our own transport to get here - the drive was really hairy: very steep hairpin bends and lousy roads - but you can join a tour from Ancon beach or Trinidad. We were very... More

No problem with hiking shoes and some walking condition. After 60' you reach your blue lagoon with refreshing waterfall as reward. You can have drinks on your way down/up. Not to cold if you do iT in July . We were with 3 and saw 6 others...and 1 snake( not dangereuses one). So not too crowded for high season.

The walk down really is an hour an a half, and some spots require more careful footing than others. Don't forget water and snacks! You'll roast, but at least the entire path is heavily shaded. Pretty scenery and the dip in the pool at the end feels soooo good. Just make sure you use the bathroom before this long hike... More
