We did a one-day mountain bike ride from Torea to Punga with the Marlborough Sounds Adventure Company. The trip was so easy to organise and the staff were very friendly and helpful . It was an enjoyable boat trip across the Marlborough Sounds to our starting point at Torea. Make no mistake - this is not a ride for the... More

Amazing track... Mountainbiked it over three days, staying at the resorts and lodges along the way. Incredible views over both Queen Charlotte and Kenepuru Sounds. Track could do with some work in places to improve its surface for riding, but generally pretty awesome. Wouldn't like to have ridden it on a hard tail... If you're short on time, the ride... More

Really enjoyed doing this with some measure of luxury, using 'boutique' inns....but take care you have accurate descriptions of the length of each day's walk! We ended up doing nearly 30 km on one day - perfectly possible but unexpected! More

This trek has some reasonably steep sections but overall its quite easy and well maintained. The views are exceptional and that you can have your packs transported by water taxi to your next stop over is great. We were fortunate with good weather - clear and just a little cool, perfect for walking. More

We walked the 71km track over 4 days during Easter 2012. We had beautifully fine weather and this certainly made the walk more enjoyable, particularly as we could take in all the views along the track. (I would not recommend walking this if bad weather settles in as you will not see or appreciate the stunning views along the way,... More

The Picton walking group have done day trips on several parts of the track, taking a boat from Picton or back to cars at Anakiwa. Every one has been a good day walking. Lovely to stop at the cafes too! Our average age is 70. More

This is a great walk which we did over 5 days. It has plenty of hills so is a good work-out. The scenery is magnificent all along the way. We stayed in lodges each night all of which were very comfortable. Our bags were transported each day by water taxi, so we only had to carry day-packs which is was... More

We started this hike with lesser expectations than we have had with other NZ tramps. This was the 7th we have completed in NZ. We always walk independently and were a little concerned that we would be overrun with people and mountain bikes as the track can be accessed by road at many points. This was not so. We really...
