Very interesting. Got up close looks at many sea creatures and an interactive tour from host. Touching pool was great for the kids. The only downside was that the host talked a lot about how much he liked to kill & eat the fish. I would rather enjoy them alive than imagine them being killed.

At first, I thought it was very expensive, but we were given our receipt and told we could come back anytime for free for the next week. I also don't mind paying more since the aquarium does a lot of conservation work. The displays were good, but the best part was the feedings and talk. Patting a tuatara, seeing a... More

Our ferry was delayed, so we had time for a visit to the aquarium. We were a little surprised at the price, given that last time we went many years ago, there were only fish tanks. But now that the focus is on conservation, particularly of tuatara, the price was understandable. We love the touch tank and being able to... More

Our cruise ship stopped in picton, and we walked along the water front and came across the aquarium. The guy at the front desk was very helpful, and we just made it to a tour that just started, they fed the turtles, and feed the penguins. The tour guy was very enthusiastic you could tell that he loved what he... More

I was rather put off by the price ($22 for adults and $10 for kids) but our campsite said to mention their name for a 10% discount which helped. Small aquarium with few species but good to see a sting ray and seahorses! Also included tuatara and other reptiles which was an added bonus. Also had a touch/feel pool for... More

Popped in here to kill some time before catching a ferry. Whilst I agree with other reviewers that it is way overpriced, I can let it go when realising the good work they do nursing the injured penguins back to health. I only hope the money goes towards the animals welfare and is not lining the pockets of wealthy owners?... More

Very informative guide, he knew his stuff! We went on the feeding tour, the group was small enough to see everything which was nice. It was great for the small size.

Nearly every wk I go to Eco WorlD not to the aquarium, though I have on a good few occasions, but to the movies. I can always rely on seeing a good alternate movie be it local, or overseas.

Small aquarium that is looking a bit tired in places. The entry price is quite steep if you are just viewing the displays, but if you are there for the talks and feeding it is worth it. The only place I've been where you are able to touch a tuatara, so that's pretty special. Our guide was very knowledgeable and... More
