Very informative guide, he knew his stuff! We went on the feeding tour, the group was small enough to see everything which was nice. It was great for the small size.

Nearly every wk I go to Eco WorlD not to the aquarium, though I have on a good few occasions, but to the movies. I can always rely on seeing a good alternate movie be it local, or overseas.

Small aquarium that is looking a bit tired in places. The entry price is quite steep if you are just viewing the displays, but if you are there for the talks and feeding it is worth it. The only place I've been where you are able to touch a tuatara, so that's pretty special. Our guide was very knowledgeable and... More

Even at half price after 4 this place isnt worth the money. Its like being charged to see animals suffering. In the fish tank there was one blue penguin stood on a tiny rock as it had nowhere to go. The poor thing looked depressed. The alleged 'blue penguin section' is closed to staff only?! Furthermore on the building it... More

We visited as we had a bit of time to waste before our ferry left. We really enjoyed the visit, with Geordie (apologies if spelled wrong) a knowledgeable and personable guide. Our daughter got to see a tuatara up close, as well as a blue penguin who was being rehabilitated (We'd spent a lot more on the Penguin encounter at... More

I went there with our teenage German homestay and she enjoyed looking around at the fish in the aquarium. A bonus for us is getting a lecture about tuataras and being able to gently stroke one on the back while the guide held it in his hand out of the cage. We also loved seeing the fairy penguin go for... More

The entrance to the facility is clean and looks nice. When you go through the door everything changes. Many of the tanks are dirty and poorly maintained. The tanks are crowded. Documentaries are pre-Cousteau. I saw a starfish covered in fungus and one bird that tore his feathers possibly due to lack of space. A horror and a scam that... More

We visited one Saturday evening, about 4.30pm. Entry was half price at this time, which was great. The staff were excellent - welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable. The fish and other animals were cool. The building is a bit shabby on the inside - looks like a bit of a leaky roof problem! And some aspects of the displays and information boards... More

A fun experience. Make sure you get there when it's feeding time. Not only will that boost animals' activity levels, but the staff member handing out the food tells great stories about the different animals too! Staff is generally very friendly and knowledgeable. When we were there, a couple of penguins that had been brought to the aquarium a couple... More

Hidden gem in Picton! My wife, two kids and I visited three times on our recent Picton holiday. Feeding time was a highlight, we witnessed two sessions. The guides were knowledgable and freindly. The kids loved seeing the tuataras, blue tongued skink and crayfish. I was quite taken with Gary the snake-necked turtle. All up a great rainy day activity.
