Spectacular scenery. Saw Dolphins. Beautiful scenery. If you are travelling on the Interislander Ferry, go up out on the deck - you will be amazed at the natural beauty. Highly recommended.

Picton is a lovely quiet seaside town with many retirees as well as travellers commuting between North and South Island. The hidden treasure is the Marlborough Sound - definitely a must and if you get the choice experience the Sound via the mail ferry.

Took the ferry from the North Island to the South Island and ended up in this breathtaking small town of Picton. If anybody visits New Zealand. This is a must see.

Picton is a pretty seaside village with stunning views of the Marlborough & Queen Charlotte Sounds. The town has some excellent restaurants & cafes too. We stayed overnight in a very modern apartment overlooking Picton Harbour which was lovely. The best thing about staying in Picton is all the wonderful cruises & activities available at your fingertips with the added... More

One of the most beautiful places I have visited, ever. The water is so sparkly and clear, the green so brilliant it almost looks unreal. Absolutely a must see if you are in the area.

Picturesque charming town, peace and beauty. Impressed with the bird life and seeming micro-climate. Would recommend staying more than one night with lots of day trips possible or relax on the charming foreshore.

Beautiful area. I highly recommend stopping to enjoy the area overnight. Lots of activities to do: hiking, kayaking, swimming, camping, fishing, dolphin swimming, boat tours.....also lots of short walks and beaches to enjoy with your family.

We had a little walk through the main street and then on the beach. Picton has a lovely view of the water but I am not sure how much you can actually do there. We have some distant relatives living there and their teenage children were complaining of lack of "to do" in town...one can only imagine.

We walked along the harbor and on the trails - I wish we had allowed more time. We walked to Bob's Bay and back, but it was getting dark. I would have liked to go all the way out to the end of the peninsula. You could see horseshoe tracks on the trail - people must ride horses on the... More

Picton is such a lovely place and much more than just the ferry terminal. It boasts a good range of shops, bars and restaurants. The harbour and marina are lovely places to go for a walk. Overlooking the marina there's a 'retirement' village made up of round bungalows set into the hillside; it could almost be hobbiton! There are many... More
