Did the 4 hour afternoon mail run with jason at the wheel. Jason's knowledge was outstanding and the sights points of interest and history he took time to explain really complemented the magnificent scenery of the sounds. A must for anyone staying in picton.

Picked a nice day last Monday 24th to take the Mail Run Cruise with Beachcomber Cruises. Skipper was very good with his knowledge of the area and its history, flora & fauna. Was also very attentive to a lady with special needs and made sure she didn't miss out on anything. We enjoyed a walk at Ship Cove to experience... More

Had a very enjoyable cruise in Marlborough Sound. Captain was a local and very knowledges about area and its history. Made a special effort to be sure we enjoyed the cruise. I have no experience with others doing this so can't compare but if you are interested in this type of trip, this is a really good choice.

This is a wonderful way to see the Sounds. Very comfortable boat, friendly knowledgeable crew, (Jason's commentary was a highlight) The scenery is truly spectacular and we even had some dolphins playing around the boat. Highly recommended, a MUST DO in Picton.

We took the 1.30departure mail boat around Queen Charlotte sound. It was so beautiful. You can sit in or outside the cabin, go up top for the best views or keep moving around. Many stops to pick up and deliver parcels and people. Inside the cabin is heated which is nice when there is a cold wind blowing outside. Commentary... More

We took the Beachcomber mail boat to Ship Cove and for luggage transport along the Queen Charlotte track. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The commentary on the boat is also quite interesting. Enjoyed the view from the top deck. Highly recommended.

Many use the Beachcomber for drop offs, etc around the Queen Charlotte area. But Jason (our skipper and sound native) made this more than a tour (and a few provisioning / mail stops ). Dog biscuits for the dogs (and pigs) at each stop was just the beginning. Jason knows his area, and he is absolutely passionate about it. He... More

We had wonderful commentary on the way to the walk. The skipper stopped a few times when we saw dolphins, so that we had more time to take photo's. The commentary on the Queen Charlotte Sound regarding the history and geology of the area was just amazing. We started our walk at Ships Cove and still think it's longer than... More

We took the early morning cruise to Motuara Island and were thrilled with the Blue Penguins in their nesting boxes (though did not see any other birds that we had not already seen in Fiordland or Kaikoura). The crew were super-friendly and helpful - even salvaging the wife's hat when it flew into the Sound, without being asked or expected.... More
