Beachcomber staff very attentive, and provided informative and thoughtful commentary. We saw green parakeets, saddle backs, tui and robins,The island is very small and there is only one path, to the top of it. This takes 30 minutes to get to the top and thirty minutes back unless you really rush it. We only had an hour on the island... More

This was probably the most outstanding day of a superb holiday in NZ. A 5 hour cruise through Queen Charlotte Sound with an interesting commentary from Jason, the postie. I can only confirm what the other posters have said about the quality of the trip. We were fortunate in having good weather but I kind of envy the person who... More

We did one of their day trips and took the boat at 9 am then dropped off at Ship Cove and picked up at Furneaux at 5.20 pm. The boat ride was very pleasant with a commentary on the way there. There was free tea and coffee and two toilets. The trip cost $77 there and back. We did not... More

I took my 4 children on this amazing trip not once but twice as it was that good. Jason was the perfect Captain and explained the history of the sounds. We thoroughly enjoyed being on the catamaran which for my children was the first time ever on a boat. We were privileged on the second trip as Jason stopped so... More

Booked this through a third party website. Have travelled with these guys before. Check in was a breeze. Friendly informative staff. The boat was clean and tidy. Free tea and coffee. It was a dark old day in Picton when I did this trip. Misty clouds and mist off the water gave it an eerie feel. I stood out the... More

We had an enjoyable ride to our Ship Cove kayaking tour and it was a wonderful start to our New Zealand vacation! We enjoyed the complimentary coffee & tea and on the ride home we became friends with Levi - please tell him Abby & Jonny say hi!

Had a super 6 hour cruise on the mail boat round Marlborough Sounds. Weather was great. Catamaran mail boat does between 16 and 20 knots and visits all the distant settlements which can't be reached by road. Jason is the default captain and does the whole business himself, carrying goods, mail and passengers. The video on the website gives a... More

We booked the ship cove cruise and it was a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning especially in the glorious weather. There was a 25 minute stop at the Cook Memorial and a few stops around the coves delivering and picking up passengers and mail. The information commentary, although difficult to hear over the noise of the engines when... More

Loved the great New Zealand humour during the PAs. Informative and quirkily amusing. The boats were lovely to travel in, clean, and on one, provisioned with free tea and coffee.

Wow, what a brilliant day we've all had doing the Queen Charlotte sounds walkway from Furneaux Lodge to Punga Cove. It all started with our amazing host (Jason) who piloted the boat from Picton. He was so friendly and gave a continuous and informative commentary of the sounds, including a balanced historical viewpoint from his Maori ancestry through to European... More
