It is the best way to explore the Marlborough sound on water. We love it. Leicester was friendly and tin boat designed by him! He gave us good safety instructions and how to operate the boat. My son rode with him, and he let the boy drive on the way back. He also took some pictures of us driving boat... More

this is an absolute must do .. I can't imagine a better way to experience the Sounds than on the water; driving your own boat makes it even more fun. Leicester was friendly and knowledgeable and very relaxed, we did the morning trip and it was amazing to see the Sounds transform as the fog lifted and the sun came... More

An invigorating two days on the Sound in Lester's self designed rocket boats. Quick to launch and unsinkable the boats skim along at a good speed and cover large areas in very good time. Not only a good time but Lester would regularly pull alongside and give history and geography lessons and answer all your questions. Lester likes to talk.... More

We want to say thank you to Leicester for a fantastic day out with him as he guided us around some of the sounds. He has great knowledge of the area and NZ and we learnt a lot from him. The scenery was amazing and a great way to spend a day.

We sought to see as much of the Marlborough Sound as possible, but see it on the water and in the bush. This excursion surpassed all our expectations and frankly is relatively inexpensive compared to the excursions offered by the cruise ship, which did not offer one like this. We were picked up early at the dock and taken to... More

It was only us and Leicester on the boat. It was a beautiful morning, we were only 2 boats on the water and it was gorgeous. Leicester took our 2 kids on his faster boat and let our son drive We rode for 3 hours with a stop on a deserted beach where the kids were able to observe dead... More

We were on a cruise ship and Leicester the owner, picked us up at the port. It is about 30 minutes drive to the Marborough Sounds site. Leicester gave our group safety instructions and showed us how to operate the boats. He is a lovely person with a great personality. He made the tour so special. We rode for many... More

We had a wonderful day with Leicester. Thoroughly enjoyed learning how to ride the tinnies and loved the beautiful surroundings and Leicester's droll commentary. This was money well spent and I highly recommend the trip. An added bonus was that we were transported there and back from Picton.

We did a full day trip with Leicester and were lucky enough to be the only couple on the tour that day. Leicester is a boat designer and he has created these great little boats which are fast, stable and really easy to drive. We had a fantastic day zipping about the sounds in some very quiet and peaceful areas... More

Loved loved loved this tour. Leicester was a fantastic guide who helped us navigate the Marlborough Sounds in our own boat. There was amazing scenery as we boated past and got a lesson in mussel farming in New Zealand. We booked the day tour, but only did the boating portion, not the walk (make sure to pack your lunch). I... More
