We were lucky to see both Hector and bottle nose dolphins, and the first swim with the bottlenose's was amazing! It was a large pod, and they were so interested in us and swam all around and under and among us. Since the water is fairly clear you could see them going underneath you. The team on the boat was... We spent the afternoon on the boat travelling from Picton to Motuara island, pausing at various bays, coves and islands to observe fur seals, birds of various species and check out any Dolphins on the way. At Motuara Island we disembarked and walked to a lookout at the top of a hill, again pausing along the track to see various... More

We had a wonderful morning in the Sounds with a very professional and friendly crew. A lot of histories around this magnificient place. We saw Hectors dolphins and had a lot of fun watching them... Unfortunately, we weren't able to find dolphins we were allowed to swim with so we had a discount at the end. But still an amazing... More

When we decided to come to New Zealand for holidays. I asked my husband and daughter what they wanted to do. All my daughter said was she wanted to swim with the dolphins. We went to Picton and went on Dolphin Watch Ecotours. I was very concerned that she might not go in but our guide who was Larissa was... More

This is a clean and modern boat. It was comfortable and there was ample seating. Very friendly. Our trip was principally to see birds. The scenery was lovely in the sound. The birds were fun. The narration was very interesting. Good tea and coffee provided and a special treat late in the trip were date scones!

Even though we didn't actually get to swim with the dolphins there is no way these guys deserve less than 5 stars. First of all Aily and the skipper were very friendly and amusing (exactly how you want staff to be on a trip like this) secondly, we got to see Hector dolphins up close which was amazing and to... Notwithstanding that we did not see the hyped dolphins this was still a really good cruise seeing plenty of other wildlife, including Penguins, and with a lovely guided walk on Motuara Island where we saw baby Blue penguins. The cost for 2 was NZ$ 198, and was worth it for this cruise lasted nearly 4 hours. The crew were very... More

What an unbelievable experience! We went out on the boat in glorious weather in the safe hands of our skipper, Glen, and our two very enthusiastic, reassuring and knowledgable guides, Larissa and Kate. We heard all about the wildlife and vegetation of the Marlborough Sounds on the way out to find the dolphins and once we'd found a pod of... More

We managed to see Dolphins from the boat however were unable to swim with them due to weather conditions. Despite the weather conditions being terrible, the crew were very positive and continued to search for possible Dolphins to swim with in every cove in the queen Charlotte sounds. The tour was partly refunded from a swim trip to a viewing... More

Wow!! This tour exceeded our expectation in every way. My husband and I have resisted swimming with the dolphins in all of our previous travels because they are always done in an area where the dolphins are in captivity. WIth this tour, the boat takes you out into the Marlborough sounds (from the Picton Harbor) and the crew and guests... More
