We were on a cruise and had a stop in Akaroa. After looking at trip advisor and the great reviews for the Akaroa and Seal Colony Safari - I knew this was one that we wanted to do - and it was wonderful!! Paul picked us up on the wharf and took us out to his farm where the seal... More

Cruising of the harbour with the Black Cat was a memorable experience. The Captain gave a good running commentary on the local history of the whole region. Cruised past the Maori church and Marae, past a colony of seals, sited and took photos of the little dolphins and a blue penguin. The rock formations and colours were breathtaking. We were... More

Paul picked us up from our accommodation in his minibus. We enjoyed the drive through his farm to the cove where the fur seals where. The first sight of the cove is beautiful. We climbed down over the rocks & sat watching the fur seals for ages while Paul told us more about them. It was a perfect sunny day... More

Highly recommended. A great time out on the boat - very friendly and informative staff (including Murphy the dog!). Suitable for all and any ages

We had a fantastic time at the seal tour with Paul. We enjoyed the drive up through his vast fields. Even though it was a misty day, the moment we came down from the vehicle, we were greeted with a breathtaking sight of the sea right before us. It was a one-of-a-kind experience climbing down the rocks to see the... More

Had organised this tour prior to going on our cruise. No problems with communications... Must remember Paul is a working farmer so allow time for him to reply. His job is outdoors. Our trip to Akaroa was delayed by a day but no issues with that. Picked up at wharf .. Taken in mini bus up through some spectacular countryside.... More

We stayed at Pauls B&B and went on a private tour to his farmland on the shore and "his" furseal colony. First we were a bit sceptical because we had seen already seals in five other locations. On arrival after the 4WD trip, half a dozen jounsters slowly moved off the picknick table. Climbing down over the sharp rocks we... More

We scheduled this trip as a side trip to our NZ Celebrity Cruise. Paul was an excellent guide. His property is a perfect place to visit and see how the NZ live. He has a vast knowledge of seals and it's so nice to have a personal, private tour. He even made us muffins and hot tea or coffee. The... More

We were met in akaroa by Paul at the cruise port as we had a stop there for the day. He had a small tour bus which made for such a personal tour experience as there wasn't a huge tour group of people. His tour for this particular day was fully booked, so if you want to get on this... More

We were on a cruise from Australia to NZ and endeavoured to make all our land tour arrangements prior to leaving Australia. Akaroa Seal Safaris was on or must do list and I tried to arrange a booking using the website contact page well in advance. After many messages and numerous phone calls we had no answer, not even an... More
