Had a fantastic morning with Paul. He is a fountain of local knowledge, very friendly, and a slightly wicked sense of humor. This was definitely a highlight of our two weeks in NZ. We saw lots and lots of seals. A delicious home baked morning tea was provided also. Loved this tour!!

A combination of outstanding features makes this activity one of, if not, the highlight of our NZ holiday. Paul runs this family business with pride and immense knowledge. He is a local whose ancestors came to Akaroa in 1840 so he is a rich source of information on Akaroa's history, the makeup of the breathtaking countryside and the people making... More

If you love countryside with history, scenic views from all sides and The best colony of seals then this is the tour for you, you wont be disappointed. It was a fantastic experience. If you like to go a little off the beaten track, this is sth you should not miss. The drive to the seal colony was very scenic, great views and some interesting background information from Paul, our guide who was super professional and knowledgable. You have to do a short hike through somewhat rocky terrain... More

Paul picked us up from the pier as arranged. He took us through his 750 acre sheep and cattle farm which was amazing in itself. The history of the property was very interesting. We arrived at the seal colony. I expected to see seals sitting on rocks but it was much more than that. They were swimming and playing in... More

We visited Akoroa in early November 2014. Paul picked us up promptly at the pier as arranged. He drove us to his 750 acre farm where he raises sheep and cattle. He showed us around the farm a little, giving us the history and answering our many questions. We drove along dirt roads to get to the cove where the... More

Paul was very punctual meeting us at the visitor centre as arranged, and we quickly started our tour in his vehicle. Along the way he was very passionate in sharing with us everything he knows about the history of Akaroa, the farm animals he owns, and also the seal pups that he was bringing us to. There were so many... More

We were on a cruise and had a stop in Akaroa. After looking at trip advisor and the great reviews for the Akaroa and Seal Colony Safari - I knew this was one that we wanted to do - and it was wonderful!! Paul picked us up on the wharf and took us out to his farm where the seal... More

Cruising of the harbour with the Black Cat was a memorable experience. The Captain gave a good running commentary on the local history of the whole region. Cruised past the Maori church and Marae, past a colony of seals, sited and took photos of the little dolphins and a blue penguin. The rock formations and colours were breathtaking. We were... More
