Along the way we've been named as the supreme tourism award winner and also hold the Enviro gold award from Qualmark to recognise our dedication to the environment.Your nature cruise will be on the 'Black Cat', a large modern and stable vessel allowing great views of all the scenery and wildlife including dolphins, seals and penguins. If by some chance you do not see dolphins then we will provide a ticket to come again another day. This happens on average 2% of the time across the whole year.We look forward to meeting you and giving you the best stories from the Akaroa Harbour. « less

My partner and I recently had the chance to get on the black cat cruise. It was a great experience. We saw some dolphins and seals. The boat staff were very friendly and Julian the skipper knew his stuff. The lovely hostess Helen was very helpful when I was sea sick. Nothing was a problem Highly recommend this as a... More

Firstly it really helped that we had a beautiful day. Some cloud in the sky, the sun out, and little or no wind, the harbour was nice and flat like glass. Staff were really friendly, and the commentary given was very informative and very interesting to listen to. It was so awesome that we managed to see the dolphins, penguins... More

Did this cruise via a cruise ship and the group was picked up directly from the ship. While the day was a little overcast saw lots of birds and some fur seals. Highlight was the 30 or so Hector dolphins who came to the boat. It was fantastic having them swim under the bow and being so close. Hamish, the... More

Hamish was an informative and interesting Captain, giving great commentary and information over the whole cruise. He also spotted everything we could hope for (apart from Orcas and whales, which are out of season) He knew a lot about the local area and the wildlife (and even threw in a nice ruse about the sheep with shorter legs - had... Thanks for your comments, I see you heard about the famous Akaroa hill sheep who have developed shorter legs on one side to deal with walking around the hills! Hamish is one of our most experienced skippers and tells a great few stories on the cruise so he will appreciate your review, thanks a lot. More

A wonderful trip made special by the friendly and attentive staff. A profesional and well run trip that enabled us to get us close and view the beautiful harbour of Akaroa and its wildlife.
