Dog Beach Heaven

This is one of the best dog beach of Perth. It runs from North Freo to Cottesloe, so a good long walk for your pooch. There is flat sand beach & waves not to big, plus you can... read more

The upper part of the beach is dog heaven and great fun to watch them having fun. To walk the beach up and down takes nearly an hour with a quick swim in the middle at the swimmers beach end (non dog) is Bib And Ticker which is a great restaurant either for a snack and a drink or a... More

nice and there are nice cafes around for brunch. No need to travel too far from Freo for a nice walk on the beach

Apart from the obvious - i.e. dogs absolutely love this beach, the beach is really good - in that, on a good day, the water is predictable and there aren't lots of submerged rocks causing swirls and eddies that stop my dog from jumping in the sea. He's a wuss anyway. Beach is really popular with kite-surfers as it has... More

It is super close to the train station and parking with a cafe right by the beach with reasonable prices. They do close early though so take some water with. The waves are a bit shallow but that is due to the sandbank going out far where you can walk almost everywhere. They do have a lifeguard by the lookout... More

This is one of the best dog beach of Perth. It runs from North Freo to Cottesloe, so a good long walk for your pooch. There is flat sand beach & waves not to big, plus you can explore the exposed reef near the cottesloe end of beach with your fur babies! Lots of friendly happy dogs with smiles on... More

The water is crystal clear on a warm summers day. The only thing against all the beaches here is the wind. Soon windy along all the coast most days so if you like to kite surf this is the place to go!

The beach was very quiet when we went there, very small waves, void of rips, great for smaller family members wanting to enjoy the ocean in safe environment. We went outside time when lifesavers would have normally been on duty.

Lovely beach with easy access and car park close by. Clean, white sand, playground nearby with a couple of restaurants not far away.

I'm so lucky that I can actually walk to this beach. Get away from the crowds and glitz of Cottesloe and some days you can have this all to yourself. It's brilliant if you want peace and quiet and no tourist traps. There's also a dog beach for you and your best friend. Do yourself a favour and get your... More

Visiting Leighton Beach on a beautiful sunny day, is simple, healthy perfection. This is a gorgeous place to take photos of everything that is quintessentially Australian, bronzed lifeguards, laughing sandy children, lean ladies and buffed blokes. Grab a coffee at Bib & Tucker and take a stroll or enjoy a meal with a view and walk it off afterwards!
