Great for poochie -. Sometimes hard to find a park and busy on the highway with dogs so hold onto their leads. NO showers though so dogs go home dirty.

I love that this beach is quite closeby town, so it is handy for kiting after work. Although it gets very busy :-) just watch the doggies if you end up to far north as that is where the dogbeach is.

Its got better surf than most beaches but is a little too close to the Fremantle port for my liking and the surrounds behind Leighton beach aren't that pleasant. As a beach in its own right though its nice.

Close to Fremantle, with the cafe right on the beach. A good spot to just watch the Kite surfers, multicoloured kites, the swell can get up in the late afternoon. Pure white sand beach.

sometimes you can go there and you will be the only person there. Or you can rock up and life saving training will be on and people will be there. Get there before the sea breezes hits!

We went here on the day we went for lunch at Salt on the Beach, as the weather was great on that day, still 27 in May, it was great playing with my grandson, I would really recommend it.

Leighton has relatively good swell in winter but more famous for the dog beach between the footbridge heading north toward Dutchies. Good snorkelling north and west of the groin - look for the reef! Leafy sea dragons, dusty morwongs and Sampson fish. Lovely corals. Only fifty metres off shore. Beach south of footbridge gorgeous too - clear water, white sand...Perth... More

I used to swim here as a kid so my review is somewhat slanted however a warm summer day sees throngs of people decend onto this beach. It can get crowded, however if you choose to go outside the flags (Not recommended) then there is plenty of space for all.

Went on a 40 degree day so we were in the best place. I rate Leighton and adjacent Port Beach as 2 of Fremantle's best. The micro brewery on Port Beach is just sensational. An ice cold beer sitting in a lounge chair overlooking emerald looking waters. Take me god, I'm ready.
