We booked the trip to Rottnest using the express ferry and hired bikes with this company too. All I can say is this is an absolute must do. The island is fantastic, bikes needed to get around as there are no cars allowed.

10/10 for this ferry service. It was reliable, and fast. The passage over was choppy and the staff did everything to look after the passengers' needs.

On the Captain Cook website the tab marked 'fares' list $17 for a day return ticket. This is only the landing fee for the island, and not the ferry fare. That is over $55, so total cost for a return ticket is over $70. While the ferry ride was good and Rottnest Island well worth visiting, it was a bit... More

On Saturday 2 August 2014 I caught the Rottnest Express for a guided bus tour around the island and was exceptionally happy with how the day went. Thankfully the tour guide provided commentary on Perth real estate and suburbs such as Peppermint Grove when we cruised past them. Then during the bus tour we were taken all around the island... How disappointing. No mention on their website that it takes at least an hour to walk from the North Fremantle train station to Northport Terminal where the ferry departs. We spent ½ hour walking in 100km/hr winds trying to get from the train station to the ferry. We missed the ferry and were left cold, wet, windswept and miserable. And... More

Just back from 3 days of cycling in Rottness I ws impressed with the service, my luggage was delived and picked up on time, loved the labels for it, the ability to get into Rottnes early to get me cycling straightway and early in the morning so that I could relax for the rest of the day.

We booked online for a Tuesday day visit, when the tickets are almost half price. We secured the tickets for $117 return for 3 adults, which I thought excellent value. Trip over was a little rough, but staff were very good, running around handing out the 'sick' bags. Coming back in the afternoon was much smoother. If your schedule and... More

Hi Abbykat, We’re glad to hear you were able to take advantage of one of our great discount deals even if the weather was a little bit rougher than we’d like it to be to show off the island. We do offer a variety of discounts throughout the year so hopefully the weather will be a bit nicer on your... More

We took this boat from Perth's Barrack Street Jetty, to Rottnest Island. We had a very good crossing and it was smooth sailing all the way. The commentary was very informative along the Swam river. The luggage transfers were great, although the transfer from the boat to the accommodation (Rottnest Lodge) was quite disappointing. We walked from the ship to... More

Hi Dijke P, Thank you for your comments, we are glad that you got to enjoy the great service onboard whilst taking in the sights from Barrack Street to Rottnest Island. The transfer of luggage from the Rottnest jetty to all accommodation on the island is handled by the Rottnest Island Authority so your comments regarding the lengthy delivery time... More

This is a comfortable and fast ferry. Best way to get to Rottnest Island. Servicve has improved considerably since my previous visit 8 years ago.

You have to just LOVE a monopoly. Crap service at both ends, weak on line booking, impossible to change without massive charges,.......but then.....it's a monopoly. Rotto is a great place to visit but the ferry is an expensive joke.

Hi SteveBrown246, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback regarding your recent trip to Rottnest Island. Everyone entering the Rottnest Island Reserve is required to pay an admission fee ($16.50-$21.50) as a contribution to the conservation of the Island and the provision and upkeep of facilities. This fee is included in your ferry fare which does... More
