I do not like being asked "Where are you from" when you buy a ticket. I even like less when they try twice after you say that we just want to see the museum. Also, they do not allow to keep handbags... The Danish painters failed to paint the beautiful Skagen sky... The Dutch painters got it!. Kroyer & Co... More

Down a side street in this small northern town, in an elegant brick building, this museum offers a couple of hours of insight for the visitor who is curious about local history and the artists who chose the Skagen area for their work. For those knowledgeable about these artists, there is inspiration to be found in the paintings on display... More

Brilliant collection of paintings of the Danish Skagen painter colony weaved in with local history from the late 1800's. Works of Kroyer, Ancher, Drachmann, Tuxen, Krogh.

After 30 minutes of wondering through, I suddenly became captivated by the art, and the point of view. What an amazing... More

Fantastic little museum, so lucky to come during this special exhibition - Kroyer in an interrational light. The house and gardens are pretty too, it's an absolute must if you're in Skagen.
