There is no worry about the Poles embracing capitalism and this location does it in spades. All around Krakow are various tour companies offering this service from 100 zloty per head upwards. Save your money. Write down your destination, take a walk to the main train station (Dworzec Główny) and buy a local train ticket for 4 zlotys. The 10... More

The visit to the salt mine is a good half day tour. We were picked up in the morning from our hotel and then it's around 30 minutes drive from Krakow to the mine. The guide speaks english and although it can be difficult to understand everything you get the idea and the majority of what the tour guides are... More

Went to the mines early this week during a trip to the beautiful city of Kralow. Had been there before (six years ago) but definitely wanted to go back. The site is easy to reach from the city centre. A lot of guided tours are organized - you leave the city by bus (picking you up at your hotel and... More

This is an awesome place to visit. Don't be put off by the stories you hear about all the stairs, yes there are 300 plus stairs when you first start out but they are all down not up. We were in a mixed group of all ages and no one appeared to struggle with the walk however as with all... More

You see a majestic 1% of the mine and leave wondering what the other 99% is like. The Cathedral is most impressive and the Ballroom most welcoming - you can get a cold beer there!

This is really a trip you have to make if you're staying in Krakow. The mines are simply jaw dropping in their size and construction. The guides are knowledgable and interesting explaining all you need to know as a lay visitor. The total shock when you reach the main chapel is amazing. You really do have to sit down to... More

What a wonderful experience. I've never seen anything like it before. I had no idea how incredible salt was!! Definitely recommend you do with a guide. Also pleased went in winter months to see some of the special chambers that close in the warmer months. Thoroughly enjoyable. Need at least 3 hours to see things.

Very interesting indeed. 700 year old salt mine with fascinating carvings and Chambers. 100m below ground. Informative guide made the tour with good commentary. Only negative. .. the lift back to the surface had 9 people squashed. .. and I mean squashed. .. into a tiny lift. Definitely not for claustrophobics! Otherwise great! !

I went to the mine after visiting Auschwitz a few days previously. My guide was very informative (from Cracow City Tours) and it was fairly enjoyable however being told you need to pay to take photos made the tour a little dissapointing. Especially after having to pay more for the tour than I had for Auschwitz. If you only have... More

Amazing place to visit , great tour around mine , took almost 3 hours . What a spectacular chapel in the middle . Guide was great and can say we fully enjoyed ourselves . Booked through our apartment , cost 135 zl each for transfer from our street and entry with guide . Maybe be able to do slightly cheaper... More
