We are Seniors enjoying the beauty of Slovenia. The Skocjan Caves are amazing!. There are 2 Tours offered: The "New" Tour ( 1 1/2 Hours) and the "Classic " Tour. (2 Hours) Both are worth seeing. Each one offers partial inside cave and outside terrain routes. They are somewhat physicaly challenging but manageable for most Seniors. The magestic power of... More

In my opinion the best caves in Slovenia, the guides and all the staff are suepr friendly and try hard. They are expanding, and opening new routes to offer even more, their tours are informative and fun and of course the caves are amazing! The so called pans are a magical end to the tour, and it's just breathtaking to... More

The caves are astounding. I'd rather have seen them alone to take in the sacredness of the place. But I just lingered in the back of the tour and let them all walk ahead of me. Its crazy to walk through and imagine what it would have been like to be the one to walk through discovering this place. I... More

We enjoyed this cave most! You enter the cave through a side entrance and then you can hear the river roaring in the dark before you cross it on a stone bridge and can hear deep down the river roaring This scenery could be taken right out of the "lord of the rings" but it is real. This is the... More

I took the train to Divaca, and then walked for about 45 minutes to the caves. Walking route was nice, peaceful and well marked with green small signs. It was easy to follow as long as you took the right direction from the railway station. If you are into walking, I really suggest you take the walking route, too. Be... More

I've been down into the skocjan caves four times now it it never fails to impress my tour groups. The guides are always good English speakers. The contrast between the silent caves and the roaring huge river cave makes for an interesting tour. More

The trip itself is worth a visit but do not expect much from the guide. To get there you need to coordinate your train schedule and the shuttle bus to the cave. Otherwise it takes 45 mins walk. When we went only four times served including returns. You shall be able to check the shuttle schedule on it's website. More

How can you have a 1 1/2 hour tour of karst cave formations without an explanation of how they were formed or even what "karst" means? Our guide for 60 people was expert in pointing out funny shaped rocks, but that was about it. The caves themselves are impressive, extremely deep, but the fact that you have to be herded... More
