The castle is very beautiful inside and outside, inside we can see many of the objects used at the time that lead us to imagine how it would be living at the time. Recommend

A very nice place at Trakai for a great afternoon. The castle is beautiful from outside and offers a relaxing stroll. Not to be missed while in Lithuania!

Trakai is a Lake Castle. It is about 45 minutes from Vilnius the Capital of Lithuania. The building architecture was very attractive. The best view is from the Lake Side near the Entrance Bridge. If you go to Vilnius do not miss this Castle!

I absolutely adore Trakai and the Lake Castle. Very close drive from Vilnius, you can even take a train that will get you directly to Trakai town. A lot to see, amazing stories to hear. If you have a chance try to get a guide who would tell you a lot about the history of the castle, the Grand Dukes... More

Trakai is a short 30-minute train ride from Vilnius. The walk from the train station to the castle takes about the same time. The walk easy and takes you through a charming town nestled between two lakes. The castle itself is quite interesting, filled with history exhibits. There are lots of stairs and some are quite steep.

Stunningly beautiful reflected in the waters of the lake, where mosquitos can be a problem on hot summer days but not when we visited in October. Path leads around the lake and over a bridge into the interior of the castle, which occupies an island on Lake Galve. The gothic castle has been well restored but use of modern building... More

This is a really cool castle. It's interesting from the outside and on the inside, unlike some castles that are just empty inside. There's a museum inside with a lot of neat information about the history of the castle and surrounding area, but the architecture of the rooms is really fascinating as well. My 13-year-old cousin had been there before... More

The only lake castle in Europe. Our son visited this castle in winter ,so to visit on a summer's day was very different to the photos he took. A few stairs to climb, some easier then others, but worth the history lesson. A walk around the castle afterwards is beautiful. Enjoy a trip out of Vilnius to see.
