We were on a tour and had a guided tour through the castle. This castle was about 2/3rds destroyed in about 1700, but has been restored in terms of the structure. No furniture from the period of the castle has been put into the castle. But there are some antiques in terms of money and small silver objects are in... More

I visited this castle in Trakai on a very sunny and hot day. It is the perfect mixture between beauty, romance, fun, opportunities to do sports, and finding restaurants with delicious foods all around. When you have some time, you should definitely rent a boat! I had a good day.

Lovely castle and lake, the view from across the other side of the lake was mesmerising. We enjoyed the museum and walking around the castle ground and particularly enjoyed getting to shoot a crossbow and bow & arrow. Our highlight was actually going for a sail around the lake on the 'AlgaVictorija' (the guy is at the bridge before you... More

An interesting place to visit when in the vicinity. The restored Castle/Fortress gives one the feel of that it was like living and functioning on that island.

It is just a beatiful place and definitely worthwhile a day trip. Nice restaurants nearby, so plan enough time for a snack with a view on the castle!

A very nice medieval castle, quite close to the city. The view is really amazing and someone can combine the trip to the castle with trying some traditional dishes of Lithuania in places close to the castle.

A medieval castle in excellent condition. The nature around it and the surounding lake make it a unique castle. A must due to its proximity to Vilnius (30 mins by car) and you dont have to go in if you have no time. Plenty of shops around to buy souvenirs and food, though pricy. Avoid the toilets if you can!
