We visited this zoo in January when Riga was covered in snow, but we kept that in mind and knew we might not see all the animals as we would in summer. During out visit there were only another few visitors in the zoo, which was nice. The majority of animals were kept inside when we visited and a lot... More

Zoo area is not much big. You can spend time 3-4 hours depend on your interest about animals. There is nice restaurant on the side of lake. There is small kiosk also you can try sweet corn (caramliazed pop corn). Especially spring time and summer time very nice area like a small forest. I suggest going there.

Nice zoo during the warm months the animals seem happy but the enclosures at first seem a bit small but there are spaces where the animals are let out to run around

Well. Zoo is ok. It`s not very big, not very small, nothing really special. I liked giraffes and owls. They are really cool. But take into acount, I was there in the december, so maybe it`s more impressive in a warmer time. Foxes are good too. Oh, and there was a white wolf.

Really good zoo, brought back childhood memories. Quite sad to see it in such a poor condition, definite lack of money for development. But still would recommend to visit, lots of different animals, good views. Unfortunately, didn't see meerkats this time although were really looking forward to it :) maybe next time.

Nice zoo with plenty of animals, only 6 euros each so fairly cheap for half a day's worth of entertainment. Quite a big zoo so lots of walking involved, however well mapped out and easy to navigate. Some of the animals (particularly the kangaroos and birds of prey) looked as if they could do with more space/activities however it was... More

For a small zoo this had a great selection of animals and was very cheap to visit. Couldn't get over that over 70yrs of age admission was free. We were a bit upset to see the Brown Bear pacing up and down but was soon explained by the notice at the side-had been kept in too small a cage by... More

The zoo has a good size, not too big, not too small. There are interesting animals and some really good animal houses too, but sometimes the conditions look pretty bad for the animals, and there were no lion and elephant (which did Riga Zoo really famous in the past in the area)
