It's fun to take a gentle stroll through this park, walk along the canal, relax and enjoy the moment of peace it offers. On a warm day there will likely be plenty of locals with the same idea.

This was a such a beautiful park to visit and walk around. It is beautifully landscaped with little bridges, flowers, and benches to sit on. There are statues throughout the park, a canal where you can rent small boats, a bridge with hundreds of locks that were placed by people pledging their love for each other and also a memorial... Located in the Canal Park just beyond where the Freedom Monument stands, Bastion Hill is a great spot for a short break during your walk around Riga. The hill is located on one of the ancient sand hills and offers plenty of shade.

A quiet place in the middle of the city to relax for a moment, sit on a parkbench or stroll along the river. Can be busy on weekends though. Boatrides available!

Bastion Hill was created from 1857 - 59 to replace the old defensive bulwark. It's a pleasant hill with a small stream and waterfalls. But there is much more than a nice view to this park. Nearby are memorial stones to five people killed by Soviet bullets during the January 1991 disturbances, during the Latvian struggle for independence from the... More

Bastion hill is very nice place for short pleasant walk. Walk there for a couple of minutes along the medieval city canal or look at the nice small stream going from the top of the hill and mini waterfalls. Especially beautiful in autumn when leaf fall. You can also take city canal boat tours from there.
