It is a monument to freedom. I don't have much info on it but looks very Soviet! It was en route to a few places we visited and part o the history of Latvia so a must see.

Passed this landmark every time on way to hotel. At certain times during the day the Guard is changed over and well worth seeing.

Well worth a visit to see Rigas history. If history is what you like give it a go. There is no uninteresting sites in Riga!

When you see this monument for the first time you can see just a statue like lots of. But there is a hidden sense which you have to discover. Three stars - three regions of Latvia or symbol of Soviet Union. At the bottom of the sculpture you can see people who are looking at the west - the direction... More

You can't miss seeing the monument as it is a short walk away from old town. There is no information about this monument surrounding it however from reading up on it, it's evident what this monument means to Latvians gaining their independence. There wasn't any guards present when we visited but it was -9 degrees outside. A beautiful monument, great... More

I happened upon this monument in my walk through Riga and was astounded at its beauty. It is really inspiring in its height and design. It reminded me to appreciate my own freedom every day.
