We saw Carmen. The costumes were dreadfull, but the singing was good and the music was wonderfull. Tickets are cheap and the seats are comfy. Go visit!

We bought seats at the last minute but still had good seats at the side of the stalls, for only €16 each. The view of the stage was good although we could not see the subtitles. The production was excellent, the singers were all of the highest quality and the rest of the cast made for a memorable occasion. No... More

I’ve attended Nabucco - August 14 – without having planned ahead. I was visiting Riga and when I walked by the Opera I became curious about the next season’s program. I discovered that in twenty minutes aNabucco would be on stage. It is not one of my favorite operas but I was curious about Riga’s Opera House. The building inside... More

Set by a well maintained and pretty park, with a river flowing through. Locals and tourists a like visit the National Opera and the gardens surrounding it. Very nice and peaceful.

A visit to The Latvian National Opera is worth every Euro you pay, though even the cheap seats are great value. The atmosphere, Devore and spectacle are fantastic.

We really enjoyed a tour of the facility and a small performance by some of the musical staff. They were most accomplished and along with the facility make for a first rate opera experience.

To see La Traviata as authentic as when it was written is a great experience.. Excellent arrangements and great soloists.

Just back from seeing Verdi's La Traviata. Very good production with a decidedly modern interpretation: I haven't ever seen topless dancers in an Italian opera before! Take care with your seating arrangements as not all seats have access to the surtitles.

Brilliant, very cosy and vibrant with all the action one expects from opera, a little cold in winter but the show was terrific.

We saw the opera "Il Trovatore", simply beautiful! We had booked through a travel agency and got our tickets at the theatre. We realized there were 30% of commissions so next time we will book our tickets directly with the theatre.
