We saw the opera "Il Trovatore", simply beautiful! We had booked through a travel agency and got our tickets at the theatre. We realized there were 30% of commissions so next time we will book our tickets directly with the theatre.

A beautiful setting in which to see La Traviata. Tickets were easy to buy on the internet with a good range of prices. The inside of the Opera House is absolutely stunning and well worth a visit.

Nice, classic opera hause for classic opera, operetta and balley lovers. Nice place with good acustics, classic royal style interior like in many classic operas.

We did a backstage tour of the National Opera House and it was quite memorable. We learned the history, got to be on the stage and even saw some ballet in rehearsal.

If you're in town and fancy some opera this would be a good choice as in Riga it's very affordable to see opera, compared to other cities in Europe where it can be pretty pricey. Usually the classics are there all the time: Carmen, La Traviata,The Marriage of Figaro, Rigoletto etc :)

We did not see any performances, but building itself and its surroundings is a must to visit. Great place to sit and relax with a view of beautiful flowers, fountain and canal nearby.

My wife and I have just experienced the opening performance of IL TROVATORE. Wonderful performance with Anna Nechaeva as Leonora, Murat Karahan as Manrico and Igor Golovatenko as Count Luna. The orchestra was equally good and the conductor superb. All this in a beatiful environment. Well worth the ticket price!
