Description: The Estonian Sports Museum, founded in 1963, is the largest sports museum...
The Estonian Sports Museum, founded in 1963, is the largest sports museum in the Baltics. Exhibition rooms on three floors, historic cellar and specialized library just in the centre of Tartu are worth discovering. The permanent exposition "Hortus Athleticus" (in Estonian and English) gives a thorough overview of the development of Estonian sport through various stages of history. Museum visitor meets the mileu of the age with historic awards, cups and sports equipment. Besides exhibition, the permanent exposition offers several fun but educating entertainment posibilities. The visitor can participate in virtual Olympic tour, test his/her strength on the simulators of tug-of-war and cycling, test knowledge in sports quizzes, take photos among old-time strongmen or scan QR codes for more information (first museum in Estonia that uses QRpedia). Guided tours available!

This museum consists of two: entry fee allows to visit postal museum in this same building. I am not very excited about sports, but feeling some one else passion for it was a pleasant experience. Take friends, family or children with you. You must feel its open atmosphere and see exciting exposition.
