Spotted this from the deck of the ferry to Helsinki and on our way back curiosity got the better of us and we called in. At €25 each, it is not a cheap activity but is really worthwhile - just like in New York when you are up the Empire State Building you cannot see it, in Tallinn when you are on Toompea hill, you have the same problem! With the Balloon the problem vanished and you have excellent views of the city. I was extremely nervous walking into the ticket office and seeing a large piece of breathing apparatus on a table but I needn't have worried - in fact I hardly felt any motion whilst we were up there at all, even though it was nearly at the 12 knot wind speed limit for flying. It felt incredibly safe and the operator put us at ease, being very knowledgeable and speaking excellent English. The ride lasts about 15-20 mins and is well worth it. There is also a gift shop and cafe on site, although it was booked out for a meeting when we were there so we weren't able to sample its offerings.

Well where do I start…. WOW! You MUST experience this attraction! At first I was apprehensive, travelling in a balloon 120 metres above the ground… but I am so glad I did! It’s a smooth ride in the balloon and you feel completely safe and secure. The views you take in of Tallinn, Estonia are amazing. If you purchase a Tallinn Card you get a reduced rate. Would definitely recommend purchasing Tallinn car at 50 euros PP for 3 days – reduced/free entry for many activities. We will most definitely be back.

Very nice attraction. Possibility to wake up with hot air balloon in 120 meter high over Tallinn. Approximately 10 minutes I had possibility to watch Tallinn city from sky, after that the balloon gradually landed. The rope fix balloon on definite place, that it don`t fly away. Liked this experience with balloon moved in wind 120 meters over Tallinn. No dislikes.

Nice way of seeing Tallin. You really get the idea of the size of the city and the area around the city. Really nice during sunset. Remember to bring your camera. You can also buy a picture of yourself after you have been up in the air :)

Ballon Tallinn has been open now over a month and it seems to be a success for the turists. As I have allways fancied a hot air balloon ride, but it has been over my budjet, I thought I will try this one. Cost is 25.- EUR per adult, if bought in place or from their website, they do have an express ticket, that will give you access before the queue. Balloon is flying until wind speed 12 m/s and that was the reason we didnt bought the tickets in advance. One can see from their website, if they fly. They recommend to take a jacket with you, as up there in 120 meters, by the seaside is rather windy. Well, yesterday was a very hot day here and beeing up there was actually nice and cooling and no jacket was needed as it was 5 m/s only. Next to the balloon is a small terminal, where one can purchase tickets ( cc paymet also possible), use toilet, buy suvenirs (Estonian, not Latvian as mostly in Old Town ...) and there is also a small cafe/ terrass and photographer. I don`t like to fly, so for me going up was a chance to overcome my fear. I knew that the balloon is attached to the ground and will not fly away and there is a member of staff in the gondola with me. That was a bit calming. Another staff memebr took our tickets and we went to the gondola, there was 2 people besides us 2 + staff. Going up was a tiny bit bumpy beauce of the wind, but ok. They higher we got, the bettter wies we had. And the cooling wind was soooo lovely in this heatwave were in at the moment. As there was no queu down there we got some extra time up, staff member was very nice and offered to take pictures with different views - we had our own cameras with us - with no extra charge. He sayd that some people still frear of going up - even do this balloon is attached to the ground and only moves up and down. Many people say that the price is expencive and they would not us this balloon, but I am hapyy of overcoming my fear and had a nice time with my friend. So, I can recommend if the price is ok for you, staff was friendly and we had no problems. And they also said that is there is someone who`s looking for a bit of adrenaline, could call them when they fly sometimes, as with more wind the trip up can be more exiting :) and sunset time.

I had a marvellous opportunity to experience Tallinn's newest attraction just a week after the Balloon's maiden flight in July 2014! What a wonderful experience: Not only the breathtaking view from high up overseeing the Old Town, the city and the harbour, also their friendly and multi-lingual staff left a long lasting impression on us - 3 adults and 2 kids!

Congratulations to the team, but also to Tallinn for its newest tourist attraction for adults and kids alike! I can only recommend!

Wishing you guys many safe and happy landings in the ears to come!

We went up with the Balloon Tallinn on a sunny but quite windy August day - we actually called in advance to make sure the balloon goes up with that wind and personnel was so nice and friendly that they phoned us back when the wind was ok enough for them to start operating. Definitely worth calling in advance as they don't go up when wind is above 12 m/s. The place was bit confusing to get to with the car as there are lots of construction works going on in the port but once it will be finished, it will be fine. It's not a long walk from old town either. The views are absolutely amazing to Tallinn and to the sea! Little bit scary going up so high but felt very secure and safe and the experience is worth it. Staff very friendly and helpful, spoke excellent English. Recommend when in Tallinn!

We went up in the balloon & the great sights of Tallin were great. There was only 4 of us go up, so we could walk around. You go up 140ft but on a lead day, you can see so much. €25 for 14mins but well worth it

After dozens of visit in Tallinn, I was delighted to see this new attraction right next to seafront in Harbour. It goes way up, so if it's windy make sure you have some warm clothes, although ride isn't that long. "Cabin" isn't that big, maybe 10-15 persons max.(depending adults or children etc) and it was little shaky when somebody moved, so maybe not the best choice if you are afraid of heights. Outside of balloon they have a nice restarurant, so nice way to spend hour or two over there. For 25€, maybe I wouldn't go again, but definitely worth of visit once.
