We walked up to the top of the tower, it was in the centre of town and had an incredible view. There is also a lift to ease the walk up/down

The tower is high above the city with good views and provides history of the city particularly the Baltic Way which was very interesting.

It is a bit of a hike if you choose to walk, but worth it for the view of Vilnius. I LOVE Lithuanian's history. Here you see beginning to present. Guides on hand for hire if you want more info. However, it is pretty self explanatory. Medieval armor/weapons are cool.

It is possible to climb to the top of the hill on foot or by taking a funicular. The tower houses an exposition of archeologic findings from the hill and the surrounding areas. It is also an excellent vantage point, from where the panorama of Vilnius' Old Town can be admired. The first fortifications were built of wood by Duke... More

the ruins themselves are already a great attraction but if you have time to go into the Tower do so! there is a very nice Exhibition inside (€2 entrance fee per adult) and you get to go up the Tower from where you have a great view over the whole City as well as the three-crosses-hill. the Exhibition Shows the... Inside the Gediminas castle there are many rooms and interesting nice things to see, read it...when you get on the top of the castle there is a roof from where you can see absolutely beautiful panoramic view of the town with the rivers and nice buildings around! it;s a place you must to visit it. To get onto the hill... More

You can't really miss this iconic structure when you are in Vilnius, it stands on a hilltop and is probably in sight from most places you visit in the old city center. It is easy to walk up too, i left it to the last day of my stay in Vilnius and was able to get up to the tower... More

The climb up the tower is not too bad - and I have a fear of heights!!! Interestingly the floors have all been converted to tell you about a different period of Vilnius's history. Well worth a trip for the views alone...even on a cold day.

This lovely looking tower is worth the short hike purely for it's view. You get a really scenic view across Vilnius from the top of the tower and if you don't want to crawl up the steps or slope to it you can always use the funicular. The inside of the tower is also very pleasant and has a nice... More
