It is not a Coliseum of course - you shouldn't look for Roma in Vilnius :) But it is a nice walk, nice view and also there is a little but informative museum about medieval history of Lithuania inside of the tower. Why not to to visit it!

If it's a fine day and you have some time, this place is worth visiting. You may climb the hill or use an elevator to save some time. Going inside the tower doesn't seem to be worth it unless you haven't seen any old stuff (coins, weapons, armor, books and etc.) elsewhere. Yes, the view from the top of the... More

The view on top is nice, even if you on top of the tower the view is nicer. It only costs 5 litas to get up and see the view. There is nothing special to see inside the tower though, just a very very little museum

If outdoors is your cuppa, trek out to Gediminas from the base of the hill instead of the Gondola. Undulating and good view of the city as you climb up... I caught my first glimpse of R.Vilna from here. The Museum at the tower is not that great and very few exhibits but the view from the top, esp of... More

In biting sleet and wind we walked the cobblestone path to the top. The 360 degree view of Vilnius is amazing and worth the trek on a cold day. A few relics aid the imagination as one wonders about the defense of the city.

The tower is on the edge of the old town of Vilnius and can be hiked to or a sky tram can be take to the top. Lots of fun and an amazing view.

We walked up to Gediminas Tower and went into the museum. Very nice, short visit. Took pictures at the top with the city in the background :)

This is an interesting tower to visit anyway due to its historical links and position above the city. But the most memorable thing is the video on the top floor on a constant loop. It shows the silent 'holding hands' protest across the country as part of the road to freedom. Had tears watching it !

Beautiful place. Possibility to view city from the higher point. Good museum collections inside. Nice landscape outside. Opportunity to choose how to go up or down: by funicular or on foot.

Wonderful sightseeing place in mid of Vilnius it is very nice example of well organised and rational patriotic pride site. Maybe the very best place to observe Vilnius from above.
