The castle is well worth a visit and I would suggest taking the funicular up and walking down. The view is great from the top and the rooms on the way up explain the history of the tower, well worth 2 euros

Best view in Wilno, definitely worth to walk on top. The scenery is amazing. It costs 2 euro per person.

It is one of the main tourist destination in Vilnius. You can see there nothing much, just nice view to the town. But is is famous historical castle so it is a must for every tourist :)

It is a nice walk up to the old fortress, whear good shoes the road is very rocky. The view from the top is nice, but nothing special. We didn't bother going up in the tower.

There's a permanent exhibition inside the tower that tells you about the history of the tower, of course and also the "holding hands" event through 3 Baltic Countries demanding the independence from Soviet Union; and the line in Lithuanian territory passed by this tower. There are photos and captions displayed inside the tower. The view of the city from the... More

Accessible by funicular. Good if you, like me, tend to walk all day and appreciate a break from the trundle. Nice view of all of the town. Just a view point and fresh air.

The view is great but the museum inside is nothing to see. Staff was quite rude upon my arrival. At a place like this I'm also surprised the staff couldn't speak English, at all, neither tried to communicate.

Gediminas Tower offers a great panoramic view of the city, plus it also houses a museum of archeological findings from the area, such as swords, armour, artillery as well as retelling the history of the fortifications. It's cheap to enter and is very worthwhile walking up the hill to it for most people, or taking the funicular up (when it's... More

A visit to the Gediminas Tower is something that is being recommended to every visitor. Turns out to be a bit overrated, overstated.... It is a badly restored top of something called a Tower, situated on a small hill overlooking the city... Definitely not worth the walk up the hill so if you really want to visit it, take the...
