Must visit if you're in Vilnius for 2+ days

Take a funicular (from the river-side) to the top and walk down on foot. Pay visit to the castle itself – you'll experience great old town views from the rooftop.

Another of Vilnius' reconstructions rather than a restoration, the views from the top of the tower are worth the small entrance fee to the tower museum. Access to the tower is either via a funicular from the north side of Castle Hill, or via a rocky path from beside the Cathedral Square. In either case, sensible shoes are needed as... More

A lovely semi rural walk in the centre of Vilnius. Definitely worth a visit to see the views across Vilnius and take some great pictures. The path is cobbles and may be difficult for some people.

You can't miss this place beause it stands out from the very far. It is a popular place for peer meetings as well for tourists groups. Nice panoramas from the hill and also you can go into the tower and see the panorama from even higher point.

All in one: you can slowly walk up to the hill, see the nice view of Vilnius and also stay for a minute or twenty with your date.

The view you will enjoy is really stunning. Be careful, when it rains, the stones under your feet can be slippery! It is pretty hard to get up the hill by foot, but is definitely worth it.

On a nice morning this is a lovely walk up the hill to the tower and ramparts to view the city lying below. Beware the uneven cobbles though. Quite tiring so don't leave it till the end of the day! Free unless you use the funicular or go into the tower itself.

we took the funicular train up to gediminas tower. well worth a trip up to the top to see the panoramic views of the city. 2 euro for the funicular train, and 2 euro to enter the tower, or alternatively you can walk up the steep hill and just view the city from the top of the hill. the tower... We climbed the steep winding path up to Gediminas Tower on a beautiful sunny spring morning taking time to stop and enjoy the changing views of Vilnius on the way. Vilnius is a city of contrast with a difinite line between old Vilnius and new and very modern business district of Vilnius. The tower its self is steeped in history... More

Well worth a visit to the Tower. I took the easy route up & down using the fabulously cute Funicular Railway for less than a couple of euros. Once at the top you can get a fabulous view of the city - a great photo opportunity from here. Very windy at the top.
