The view you can get from up there is epic. It was freezing cold when I walked up the path (all 607 steps of it to touch the tower), and I was still up there for 45 minutes taking pictures and enjoying the view. You HAVE to do this if you go to Vilnius.

We had a brilliant blue sky day (very cold) and a walk to the top of the hill that Gediminas Tower stands on. There is also a lift to the top if you can not make it by foot.

Gediminas tower is also a must. Make a nice walk from behind the Cathedral - or take the funicular ( a few litas) up to the tower. Enjoy the exhibition - and specially the view from the top of the tower.

It's an easy walk up to the tower and once there you are rewarded with a great view of the city in all directions. I didn't go into the tower as it was around 9:30 and it didn't open til 10:00, but just the walk up and the view is worth it. A great way to start a visit to... More

Well, the tower itself is not very interesting (also the museum is nothing special), but the view from there (top of the hill) is wonderful and 360°. You really can see the whole Vilnius. Certainly worth a visit - on foot and / or by a kind of transparent lift (which will entertain kids).

I live in Vilnius, but we keep coming to Gediminas Tower at least once a year. I would recommend climbing the hill, but there is a cable car that brings you to the top of the hill in a few minutes. However, inside the tower you have to climb the stairs to reach the rooftop. The panorama is absolutely beautiful,... More

For an easy 5 minute walk up the hill, you can see almost all of Vilnius, especially the older section. The museum is interesting, though small - great if you just want a quick view of the local history.

Great view from the tower but the museum itself is not that good, wouldn't recommend it for the exposition but the view is worth the 2 euros.
