Another one of those castle, where you have to go uphill from the city centre. It is a short but steep walk. The short tour was long enough for us, and included climbing up the main tower, where you have a fantastic view onto Trencin.

Trencin is the place of my birth. Its historical part is the most beautiful part of the town with the castle that is proudly watching over the town and the Vah river, the silent green ribbon flowing through Trencin.

Timed, visits with guide. Provided written English translation for non-Slovaks. Learned history of the area, enough of castle has been restored so visitors climb up and down the little staircases, follow the guide in and out of several buildings. Very nice views of the city and surrounding countryside.

Beautiful located on the top of a rock , Trencin castle could be an interesting place to visit with magnificent views over the city . But ... as a non Slovak speaking visitor is it only possible to take the mini tour (3,60 euro , only 2 room and the tower) and not the big tour (5 euro) which covers... More

We tried to visit the impressive looking castle. We're told that we had to take a tour which was only in Slovak and no English explanation. We asked if we could pay to look around the lower part of the castle, it was midday and we were told to come back after 330pm. If you want foreign tourists in Slovakia... More

The Trencin castle is the third largest in Slovakia. The walk up the hill from the main square below offered some great views including from the church at the top of the covers stairs. Admission was reasonable, all yours are in Slovak but English supplement available. The guide was enthusiastic and helpful (friends translated). Views were incredible, as it burned... More

For any stranger comming to this city it is unusual view, just above main city´s square on the rock, there is a true gem among castles. Take the steep climb and explore the castle´s entire complex, it is worth of it. Very popular in Slovakia too, and for people living in Trencin it is a source of proud. History of... More
