We walked up to the castle from the Old Town, it was a nice way to spend a couple of hours, just wandering around. The views from the top are lovely as it overlooks the Danube - you can see the remains of the original fortress on the top of the hill. You can get a bus or a tram... More

So beautiful castle, which has had an interesting history too - through the decades it has been renovated from gothic to renessaince. The view is great, and there are steps and paths going around the castle's lands to explore the surroundings. Nice evening walk before going to eat, since there are a lot of ups and downs.

The castle is located on a hillside so that its very easy to get there by 20mins walk from Patio hostel(a good and convenient hostel)which is in Spitalska in the city centre. Inside the castle is a museum showing the history of Slovakia from the times of Austra-hungunrian to world war history and beyond with exhibition display ,if u are... More

Bratislava is an interesting old town, and the castle stands out above it - a prominent landmark. The castle is in fact now white (at time of writing), and we weren't able to go inside. However there were good views over the city and river. Also interesting statues, and foundations of an ancient abbey close to the castle. Slovakia has... More

The view is great from up there. however, we were cheated out of our money to go into the Treasury, which had little to nothing in it. Just some bones and broken clay pots.

Not too steep a climb to reach but a fair steady one. Lots of good views across the city and at the new modern parts as well (not as pretty). Also can see thw river danube from here.

this was only renovated in 2011 and is a work in progress completion is due during the next year or so.but it is still a must do. Grand stairs, massive rooms just to name a few things to see. Plus loads if medieval artifacts to see. The highlight is the befry tower, the views are the best in the city.... More

Went to see the panorama which is great, cant say anything about the interior. When I visited Bratislava a few years ago the castle looked more like abandoned, now its restored facades and white walls looks better than ever, especially at night.

Perched atop a steep hill alongside the Danube River, this well-restored fortress dominates the skyline in Bratislava. Its impressive entrance gate leads you past massive butresses to a courtyard and lookouts providing good views of the castle and riverside. Unfortunately there wasn’t a lot to see, as our guide told us that there is a major restoration underway and the... More
