First place we headed for when arriving from Hotel. The castle offers some of the best views across the city and some of the outside arcitecture is beautiful. Not a lot to see inside, however we travelled early season so maybe more later in the year.

The castle has been rebuilt and extended over centuries so isn't a representation of any single era.

We visited while on the bus tour, so only took a quick look inside and walked around it. It is the key landmark in Bratislava, so you must see it one way or another while there. The views of the bridge are not that great due to the numerous apartment buildings from the communist era. The other side view of... More

I thought this castle was a bit disappointing!! I have visited many more interesting castles and palaces throughout Europe! The history of the the castle is interesting, but the castle is not all that impressive!!

Our expectations of the castle were fairly low so we were pleasantly surprised. They seem to like to keep the doors so we missed the ticket office at first and were unsure where the entrance was. After we worked this out we visited all the galleries, climbed the bell tower and strolled round the grounds. This took us about 3... More

Well, to start we spend 20 minutes looking for the ticket office because no one knew where it was or they pointed us at the wrong direction (and there was no sign on the door). once we paid, 4euro (student discount WITHOUT SHOWING THE CARD) we got into the treasure room. DONT EVEN GET IN. its only A FEW pieces... More

Our taxi took us for a scenic drive to the castle's parking lot. The view of the city, of the Danube and its bridge is very good. The view from the castle from below its walls is also interesting. The visit of the castle itself is a little bit disappointing, with few things to see.

I was visiting Bratislava on business and had most of the day to kill before an early evening flight back to the UK. So I decided to take a stroll up to the castle via the Old Town. The building itself is not was us Brits would classify as a castle however the building is steeped in history however the... More

We reached the city of Bratislava at 6 PM in the evening from Vienna, where we were staying. This is a city where everything seemed to be within walking distance. So was the Bratislava castle. We passed through the Hviezdoslav square and on the other end was the Bridge. It had an underpass, which we passed and there on our... More

We took the old timer bus up to the castle as it is a bit of a hike otherwise. The views of Bratislava are lovely as is the castle. Amazing history too
