First the positives. The castle is at the top of a hill with wonderful views. The restaurant (when we managed to find it) had great lemonades. The exhibitions on the first world war and the Slovak nationalist Sturr were good. Now the negatives. We found the signposting to be poor - we had to look for the ticket office and... More

The castle offers nice panaromic view of the city and the river. Its a good 15 - 20 min uphill walk to the castle. We did not visit the interiors of the structure coz it dd not look very interesting.

Beautiful castle overlooking a beautiful city. We went in wintertime in the snow and the views over Bratislava were amazing!

There are some nice views of Bratislava to be had from the castle, but other than that I don't think it's worth spending much time visiting here. Old town is awesome But the castle is rather boring. If you have been to any of the other castles in the region (e.g. Budapest, Prague) you will find this one rather disappointing.

This was poor throughout. A very steep climb up to the castle with badly maintained roads, many with large areas of loose cobbles. Being a textile expert I particularly went to see the exhibition of religious embroidery and paid extra on top of our entrance fee for the privilege of taking photos, for which we were given a very visible... The castle is very near the town. If you ask directions the people whill tell you that is very far and will recomend you taxi, is not necessary. In this time on the year it is very hot, and human, i recomend to visite the town spring or fall. Bring with you hat and water. Is a lot of steers... More

Bratislava is doing an excellent job in renovating the castle that sits above the Danube. Though work is not yet complete, the main building is pretty much finished and is a Disney fantasy palace with vast white and gold halls, marble and red carpet. It contains well displayed galleries featuring archaeological finds, art works and an excellent WWI exhibition. Many... More

I recognise that the Castle has had to be rebuilt - but it is well worth a visit. We enjoyed the yound man playing the organ, having a look at the paintings, the World War One exhibition, the many artefacts, the treasury.including the basement and finally you should go to the top of the castle for views in all directions... Marble staircases and hidden stairwells. I'm not used to such a clean looking castle. Worth exploring for the day-get your walking shoes on :-)
