Went for a look and was really impressed

Could be a lot more obvious where to get a ticket as it's fairly open to walk around outside and only realised when going in, we should have bought a ticket back near the gate... read more

I went to the castle early before the tours came through and it was lovely and peaceful. Great view of the city and the UFO bridge. Also the history of the structure is very interesting.

Could be a lot more obvious where to get a ticket as it's fairly open to walk around outside and only realised when going in, we should have bought a ticket back near the gate. Treasure rooms were nothing to write home about but the overall site was excellent. I'd return if back in the city. Daughter who's 10 enjoyed... More

Slovak history is, like all Slavic nations, full of rebellions, pride and nationalism. All of these seems to be decently enveloped in this stunning castle, as there are many annual displays, special exhibitons and offerings thoughout the halls and corridors. It was extremely hot in Bratislava when I was there and this castle was a more than a welcome shade.

The old castle is worth a visit for the view it gives over the old town and the Danube if for no other reason. However it is much more than just a view. We in the UK are taught little about the history of central Europe and the castle provides a fascinating insight into the past. There is a particularly... More

We came u from town on the tourist train which was a great way to see the area. I tend to agree with other reviews that it is mainly rebuilt and worth a visit but if time is tight you might want to do as we did and look at the outside.

I was thoroughly impressed by the way how the history is preserved in the castle.... It provides the insite of the most prominent MAN of the Slovakian past... Good old paintings.....Dresses of old era to pip into the old memories of Slovakian country.......

Nice view of the town from the castle hill is not the only reason why you should climb it. The castle itself is magnificent and the park surroundings are lovely. Major restauration of the park was in progress and after that, it will be splendid.

The castle is interesting but there isn't a great deal to see. We had no access to the inside of the castle so have no comment as to what is offered there. There are some nice views from above and there is a souvenir shop if that is something you are interested. We arrived by bus tour, so we have... More

The origins of the castle of Bratislava date back to years 900. It is rich of history but very few of it survived till the 21st century. The castle was badly affected by a fire by the end of the 19th century and has been entirely renovated at the beginning of the 21st century. The visit of the castle from... More

My husband and I decided to have a look around inside the castle at the various exhibits. The English translations were sometimes poor and difficult to follow and the subject matter of the exhibits was, to be frank, a little dull. There were a few rooms full of paintings, mainly very dark portraits, often with unidentified subject matter and unknown... More
