This is not quite as large as the Hviezdoslav Square, but more interesting and would really be more of the central main square to the Old Town with the Old Town Hall located in it. There are some shops and cafes, and also souvenir kiosks. Our tour guide said it's also the site of a large Christmas market, so I... More

Hlavne Namestie aka the Main Square in Bratislava, is a trendy area that surrounds the iconic Maximilianova Fontana, or Rolandova Fontana (Maximillian's Fountain/Renaissance Roland Fountain. There are quite a few shops and cafes as well as a number of high profile Embassy buildings, including the French Embassy. Note that Slovakia has a history of having a good relationship with France,... More

The largest of the Namesties and filled with shops, restaurants and the main stopping off point for the city tour buses. Great street art dotted around for pictures

Small, very nice square, around a lot of restaurants and coffés. Foutain, sculpturs, banks to sit and relax. On the square the bank building is pure Art Nouveaux - beautiful

Great place to have a coffee and strudel and watch the world go by. Try Cafe Meyer or Roland's Cafe.

It's a lovely area to walk around and see all the different statues. You can go in the evening and it is still nicely lit up :)

Go on – take the tour. Download the list & find the statues – pavement/eye/roof level. It adds a dimension to your walk and some photos/selfies to your collection
