Don't kill yourself to get there. It is basically a construction zone in the middle of nowhere. Nice to take the hourlng weekend boat, leaving Bratislava at 2 pm, returning at 4.30, but there is nothing to do there after you have spent 30 mins looking at the new exhibit featuring dramatically grotesque and Kafkaesque works by the late Jirí... Visitied many times, this is one of the best gallery, very nice place surrounded by water. Helpful, friendly staff, after visiting the gallery, you can walk around building (many sculptures). Coffee bar inside.

I visited the Danubiana Museum by a boat couple of weeks ago. My expectations were not so high but I found an amazing place where the nature and art gets combined into a wonderful harmony. The museum is about 20 km away from Bratislava but definitely worth to visit. After I visited Danubiana I appreciate the idea for the location... More

Museum is located on peninsula of the river Danube and it has special atmosphere thanks to this location. Museum is divided to two sections- ArtPark/Sculpture park and museum itself. Museum has and small ArtShop full of nice souvenirs, books and art pieces. What a pitty that they had to close ArtCoffe because of contruction works! But there is small corner... More

If you are an art lover or simply a tourist who would like to see a special place in Bratislava, which not heavily crowded, I recommend to visit Danubiana Gallery. It is situated little out of the city, but it's easily accessible with car or even public transport. There are many interesting exhibitions of contemporary art happening here, but what... More

The best way to get there is by ship from the Passanger Port in the city centre. The journey takes about an hour one way. When you buy return ticket, you have free admission for the entrance to the museum. In the time of writing this article, the scheduled departure from the Port to Danubiana was at 2.p.m. (boarding 1.30p.m.)... More

The gallery, which is a large central-European art project, is picturesquely situated on a Danube island (unfortunately there is no good spot from which you can take a decent photo without risking illegitimate parking on the nearby dam). It hosts a somehow exotic collection of international 'young' art, which varies from pieces that are really good to those that are... More
