This awarding winning building is astonishing. It offers beautiful views from indoors and lovely walk outdoors on the peninsula and building roof. The permanent and temporary exhibitions are worth to see. It could be pretty windy, but river offers more dramatic moments than on a quieter sunny day :-)

The location is fantastic, the permanent exhibitions are very interesting, the venue itself is nice. Good museum, worth the 20 minutes drive from Bratislava. The temporary exhibitions could be better, they are often disappointing. To check on the website. But once again, permanent collections are very good!

Taking the ship cruise is an excellent choice, you will have two hours to visit the museum if have a returning ticket. The admittance fee itself is 8 Eur, if you buy the returning ticket, you will pay only 10 Eur ( museum ticket included). Those two hours might not be enough to see everything though. You will like the... More

If you want to get outside the Bratislava city, this is a nice trip to do, for children too. I loved the open architecture of the gallery building, the small island on which it was built and the views of river Danube flowing by. You feel like you are in the middle of the river. I'm not much into modern... More

I enjoyed the base collection much more than the exhibitions! The exhibitions were good but if they were not there it would still be worth it! It is a mind-opening collection that took me over two hours to enjoy. Never once did I get bored! It has a nice outdoor setting, great rooftop, friendly staff, lockers, clean toilets, and a... More

This gallery is located on the river Danube in a very modern building. I personally was more fascinated by the architecture of the entire building more than the actual art. The gallery was redecorated last year and now depicts more art and statues than it did before. There is a small cafe inside where you can get something cold to... More

This is the newest major art gallery about 20 kms from Bratislava which opened about 15 years back in a peninsula jutting out in to the Danube river. The Museum derives its name from the Danube river along with the name of the Dutch collector & its sponsor Meulensteen. You can reach the place by cycle, bus, car drive or by ferry when it... We took the bus which is picked up outside the Eurovia Mall on the river. The bus is a nice ride to a camping kayaking center just down the road from the museum. I believe the boat only runs on weekends. The museum is lovely, jutting out in the water. Sculpture is scattered throughout the grounds and inside the collection... More
