Owner description: Alternative tourist agency offering budget minivan and retro car trips in Bratislava and surroundings for unbeatable prices.Visiting Bratislava for only 1 day? Not enough time to explore authentic suburbs of Bratislava yourself? Then join our 2-hour or 4-hour Post socialist Bratislava city tour. Not enough time to get the taste of Slovakia? Then join our Slovak Village Pub Crawl. Tired of the city rush? Try Little Danube Canoe Trip. Need of the mountains? Go for our 1-day hiking trips. Longing for travelling back to the past? Visit spooky ruins during our 1-day castle tours. However, having stayed only in Bratislava, you can hardly say you have seen authentic Slovakia. Allow yourself 2 days or more to explore mountainous areas off-the-beaten-track. For real nature freaks we have prepared great hiking trips. If you are greedy for mysterious touch with medieval times, you will find it at gloomy castle ruins watching deep Slovak forests from above.

We read all the reviews and decided to take the tour and generally enjoyed the 2 hour tour of Bratislava. We were picked up at our place of choice and driven around in a VW green van comfortably to a couple of local places, including Slavin Monument, Market Hall, and a very charming church. These were all places we probably... More

We would've never got this much out of our few day's visit in Bratislava if we didn't take this tour. It was eye-opening, fascinating and fun at the same time. By adding this to your Bratislava programme you will get a unique experience. Highly recommendable! Thanks to Brano and other guys at Authentic Slovakia for your great work - You... More

His tour has challenged us to find private local tours in other European cities. His is still one of the best! He has a vast knowledge of the city and he shares many of his personal experiences growing up in the city. He took us off of the beaten path and had us try traditional Slovakian foods and drinks. We... More

After a work visit in Vienna, we decided to check this tour out. Our host was Andre who was so knowledgeable, gave us insight to the history of Bratislava with a genuine tour across the city. Not only were we shown key city spots, war memorials and skyline views from Andre, but there were a few extra treat surprises along... More

If you believe that buildings make a city then this tour is not for you. If your reason for visiting this city is to marvel at the ornate, historical architecture of Bratislava, then I suggest you buy a ticket for the 'red bus' tour and listen to the pre-recorded descriptions as you drive slowly past Bratislava's many historical landmarks. However,... More

We did the 2-hour tour with Brano and it was great. We were picked up from our hotel in an old skoda and driven around the sort of 'sights' you just wouldn't get to see otherwise. You might think that a tour for 2 would be strange but it really isn't, Brano is a very entertaining guide with great anecdotes.... More

My wife and I spent a few days in Bratislava and the tour with Authentic Slovakia was easily one of the highlights of our time there. We did the 4-hour Post Socialist Tour and I would be hard pressed to think of a better way to spend part of a day (or more depending on the trip you select) than... More

A two hour tour with Peter was absoultely superb, this is not your average tourist trip with retro communist soft drinks and snacks as a gift from Peter and travelling some quiet and interesting streets in the city as well as Slavin and a quick trip to the border area it was superb. Peter was knowledgeable and his and his... More

Our host in Bratislava, Martin Horvath of the Bratislava Tourist Board, surprised us following lunch on arrival day by bungling us into a tiny, noisy 1970s Skoda and sending us off with company co-owner Peter on an urban safari through recent social history. It was an absorbing, enlightening experience that brought us up close and personal with the complexities and... More

We did the two hour car tour with Peter. It was fantastic from beginning to end. The car is amazing. Peter is a funny and friendly guy. He is extremely knowledgeable and it really allowed us to see a part of Bratislava we would have never discovered otherwise. The two hours flew by and we were sad at the end!... More
