It's an expensive way to travel to Bratislava but it was quick (about 75 mins) and efficient. Not much to see sailing along the Danube but it was a pleasant trip. Make sure you book in advance as the ship only holds 139 people.

We booked in advance for the return trip to Vienna from Bratislava, to guarentee a place on board, wise move. Rather than catching the bus or train, which were much cheaper. but if you want a front seat, get there early. Comfy on board, also has a little food and drink kiosk. some nice sights along the Danube, especially the... More

3x the cost of bus and twice as long the ride. A total waste of vacation time. The boat is old and tired. The boat departed late and took over 2 hours.

Having arrived in Bratislava by train from Vienna - we decided to take the Twin City liner back to Vienna. We booked the first trip of the morning, which was relatively quiet & only 20 euros as opposed to 30 euros on later boats. The seating was very comfortable with good views of the Danube. There was a commentary in... More

Worth doing we felt but in all honesty there's little of great beauty to see on that stretch of the Danube! Our hydrofoil was comfortable and had priority seating that few people seemed to pay for and as soon as the 75 minute trip started many just went and sat there and staff onboard did nothing to deter them! Small... More

we decided to travel from Bratislava to Vienna by boat as it is always nice to be on the river and it added to our central Europe tour. The service is very prompt but a little dated, a few surly staff but no problems, we booked online which took a little extra scrutiny by the staff. For the better seats... More

I travelled with my wife from Vienna to Bratislava on a Danube river cruise hydrofoil. The cruise lasts approximately 90 minutes, and it takes to watch marvelous scenes on both sides of the Danube. Because the cruise was fully booked, we were allowed to book the only remains seats in the Captain's Lounge. From there the view was much better.... More

The Twin City Liner travels several times daily along the Danube. The docks are near Schwedenplatz in Vienna and the historic center of Bratislava. The tour tends to "sell out", but it is mostly a matter of the crew having time to get paperwork filed. The cabin is roomy, with a cafe and luggage area. The commentary is canned, but... More

Please bear in mind that there are actually two companies with different types of boats operating this route, with different piers to depart and arrive in both cities. One is the old soviet "hydrofoil" - as pictured here, and riding on it would be a proper experience of the Soviet engineering. Unfortunately, (or fortunately?) we got on a modern "catamaran"... I went to the boat ride with high expectations, I would say it is average. The boat itself is good with facilities. The cruise is not worth the money. The city of Bratislava is not so exciting to visit, it appeared like any other town/street with no special attraction. I would give a skip for this
