Vienna to Budapest hydrofoil. €109 one way. Not easy to find jetty. Retro check-in from 60 s. Bizarre salad/sausage breakfast. good lick except for two locks but they were so interesting. Then told boat had major fault and we changed to another small vessel in mid Danube then we found how fast we should have been going!!! We came into... More

Bratislava to Vienna in 70 minutes or so by boat. It had to be done. And we were really lucky, the weather was gorgeous so we could happily walk outside, have a beer and a sandwich and relax as we sped down the river. It is not the most scenic of cruises, there are a couple of interesting castles to... More

We accidentally booked a 1-way ticket Bratislava to Vienna, when we actually meant Vienna to Bratislava. Turned up at the dock in Vienna and realised our mistake. The captain very kindly talked on our behalf to head office and cleared that it was ok for us to take the journey the other way. THANK YOU SO MUCH! The trip itself... More

We flew from England to Bratislava and then took the hydrofoil to Vienna. We saved a ton of money this way. I reckon the flights and hotel were at least 50% of the cost of going to Vienna direct. The hydrofoil is a wonderful way to travel down the Danube. You can take in the views, have a drink, and... More

We needed to return to Bratislava from Vienna to get the plane home so we decided to take the boat along the Danube. It is quite a boring trip after a while, all there is are lots of little fishing huts all along the river on both banks, it's very flat and there are next to no views. Every now... More

We traveled by train from Budapest to Bratislava and had good views at times of the River Danube and the countryside. We had inquired about buses but apparently they are only for local places. When we got off the train we could not find any information office so we had to ask at a shop about what bus to catch... More

A fun break from Vienna, we took the only boat at 8:30 am. You would have to reserve ahead for the front 3 seats and it comes with a premium in price. I think it is not necessary in the summer as you can step outside. On cold weather, the front seats are advantageous. The trip takes 70 min long,... More

Disappointingly the. Oat was taken out if service last weekend for the winter season. Recommences in April . Hugely disappointed as went on this boat to Vienna last year and it was a real thrill! The Danube is, in parts, quote a narrow river and to jet up there at 70kmph feels it faster! Great experience. Do it!!

This mode of transportation is a little more expensive but takes you from center city to center city. The hydrofoil is quite and smooth with comfortable seats. We traveled on a cool day so stayed in the main cabin but deck seats were available. Look into reserved seating at the front of the boat - you get a great view... More
