In the East of Slovakia western and eastern culture link together. It is obvious according types of churches - Orthodox, Greek-catholic, Roman-catholic. Most of those churches are wooden. They are situated at nice nature of the Carpathian Mountain Area

We decided to rent a car from Krakow and explore these churches. What an adventure! We stumbled across a few in Poland on our way to Slovakia. I have made three trips to Eastern Slovakia to see many of these historic Carpathian wooden churches. There are 27 wooden churches of National Cultural Heritage in Eastern Slovakia. We embarked on this adventure with minimum information and absence of knowledge of the language. We boarded an express train in Bratislava that took us to Banska Bystriska and then took another local train which travelled back to Hronsek, since express reain does not stop at Rhonsek.
