Not just because it is the landmark of the city, but also because the view is great for little effort. A good way to get the feel of the old part of the city, the green surroundings, and the general feel of Sopron's location relative to Austria to the west and the rest of Hungary to the east. Slovakia is... More

Sopron is such a lovely place to wander around and then you can have the privilege of seeing it all from the top of the old Fire Tower. Its an easy climb but the stairs can be narrow. You have a 360 degree view from the top. There are some informative historical displays in the foyer and on the way... More

There is information about the town and its past, and then you climb the steps up the town where you can see all of the old town. It was not busy when we went, but the steps could be a problem if it was very busy

We enjoyed our visit, since the view from the tower was nice, it was easy to achieve with children (not too many steps, quite safe) and the staff was friendly and helpful.

A "must-visit" in sopron. Great view on beautiful sopron and the area. There is also information about the history of sopron and the reconstruction of the tower. The staff is friendly and the coffee downstairs is great

Fantastic view of the city. Keep in mind that you have to climb stairs. Go to the top of the symbol of the city.

This is a charming 17th century landmark in the ancient city walls of Sopron. Worth the climb up into the tower for the panoramic views over the city rooftops, which are wonderful, even on a very cold and windy winter day. The down side is that the charming museum is underneath the museum cafe, which seems to blast out cheap... More

You must see the Fire Tower in Sopron inside too, not forgetting to see it by night. You will never forget the experience.

There are different colors on the different levels at night so make sure you see it at night too. For the visit, better have a nice day to enjoy the view otherwise skip it - for us it was borderline too cold and windy. Last steps are very high. Entrance fee is about 3 euros with some package deal (about... More
