I was a bit concerned as some of the comments made regarding difficulty understanding what to do and lack of English by the staff but there was no problems. The cashier understood me and issued the credit card style ticket which you could either insert into the gate or swipe it. The cabin attendants were very helpful and I felt... more

I went to the Rudas Baths after visiting Szechenyi & Gellert, and it couldn't be more different. This is very much a traditional spa in the Turkish sense, and there is far less to actually 'do'. Having got used to wearing my swimsuit at the other baths, I was surprised to be told sternly "No pants!" I realised then that... more

During the 4 days visit in Budapest, we tried 3 medicinal baths: Rudas, Gellért and Szchenyi. I must say that we liked them all, they were all very nice but just different in many point of views. Rudas: if you are looking for a real Turkish ambiance where the locals go here is the place. The price is very cheapest... more

Getting in and using the Thermal baths costs 2200 Hungarian Florints (HUF) although you will get reimbursed 400 HUF if you stay less than 2 hours). This gets you a cabin to change in and access to the thermal baths only. If you want access to the swimming pool or any services such as massages you need to ask for... more

I went to the Rudas Baths in Budapest in early April 2008. I wanted to experience thermal bathing in Budapest but was put off by some of the reviews I had read about other baths (i.e. they were hard to navigate, staff were unfriendly, tips were expected at every corner). I chose Rudas based on other TripAdvisor reviews and was... more

I am now living in Budapest..I never knew the Rudacs before it had a 'makeover'...The spa bath is ,however, still original and it is a great experience...I recommend anyone thinking of a spa bath to try this one...Forget The Gellert..Overrated in my opinion. more

You will enjoy your visit to one of the baths if you are well prepared for what to expect, so I hope this will help you. My wife and I visited the Rudas Baths on a Sunday morning in early December 2007. Firstly getting there by bus is no great problem. The #7 (black) bus stops outside the door and... more

I can highly recommend the Rudas baths, having tried a few in Budapest. The rather garish entry section does not prepare you for the wonderful restoration and atmosphere of the baths. The changing rooms and lockers seemed very safe. Overall, very clean and safe. It was quite touristic (about 30% tourists) but that doesnt affect the great atmosphere. Just a... more

The highlight of our visit! We went for the mixed bathing on Sunday afternoon. Staff very pleasant, lovely environment. Very relaxing to bob in the water and look up through the windows in the roof. Very easy to navigate and much pleasanter for being smaller. We looked at Szechenyi & found the bustle a little overwhelming. If looking for a... more

I returned to Rudas Baths after six years and things have chenged dramaticaly in the meantime. I was surprised to see that I have to wait for my number in order to get in (apparently, during the winters the place is more crowded than in summers), after having paid the 2200 HUF entrance fee (300 HUF were refunded at the... more
