Back in time, we did have tickets for the opera, the building is of more grandeur then any opera house we have ever been before. After a day cultural walking in Budapest this building and its opera was a real treat

Amazing place with its separate areas for aristocrats and working class bods. The mini concert was amazing.

As you walk into the entrance it takes your breath away, it is so beautiful, there are so many paintings on the ceilings you don't know where to look. We went 2 nights running, we had a box the first night and the circle the second night. If you want a cheap ticket ask at the ticket office for the... More

We loved the Opera House tour and were so pleased to hear 2 songs from one of the Opera Singers, a mini concert. It was short but gave the tour a more authentic atmosphere.

Well-staged production of Lehar's "The Land of Smiles" in a charming theater. Well worth the price! Performance in Hungarian language with German subtitle - the letters of which could have been much larger though!

We had an English speaking tour followed by a mini opera. At first we were upset the mini opera was performed in the bar, until we had the performance, just amazing

We took the Opera tour and it was absolutely worth the time and cost. The history of this building is fascinating. You can visualize the great operas that were held there with all the audience dressed to the nines.

On a Saturday afternoon whim, we popped into the ticket office and asked about seats for the Sunday matinee performance of Tosca. We paid 800 HUF each for centre upper balcony tickets-- an amazing deal. What we didn't realize, however, is that the matinee performances include subtitles in Hungarian only (whereas evening performances include English subtitles, too, apparently), so we... More
