This is a must do in Budapest, even though it's quite a simple place. The statues give a history of the city. We got there first thing in the morning around 8:30 and there wasn't another soul in the square. The Square is awe-inspiring and the statues provide a great tour of Hungarian notables across the centuries. The location is also great - near to City Park, two art museums, Szechenyi baths, the Zoo, the Fun Park and Gundel restaurant. more

A place to have a stroll and appreciate some of the history, through the heroes' of the square. Not as grand or spectacular as other 'squares' in some cities, but still worth a visit. 30 minutes is sufficient.
