The place is huge and is a jewel of architecture. The details are amazing and the square in front of it is also very beautiful. More

Its central draw is a bizarre artifact. Hungary's first king's mummified hand has been on display again since it was returned from the US. Unfortunately there is not much useful historical background and you have to feed the light to be able to see it clearly. It is, however, still worthwhile and interesting. More

Can you belive that you actually can hear the birds sing, when you sit at the stair on this Basilica. Just on the other side you have all the noicy traffic. This is a place to relax at. Go inside and find out more. It´s absolutely wort every forint. If there is a wedding taking place, stop and listen to... More

For 500 Forints I walked to the top of this Basilica where you can take in a full 360 degree view of Budapest. As one of the tallest buildings, and in the centre of the city, you can look over the whole city from the top after climbing the 300 or so spiral stairs. There are some lifts but some... More

Initially said "shall we bother going in? All Cathedrals end up looking the same once you've seen a few" After giving it a go felt really ignorant as was amazed at the beauty of it. Just wished we had managed to attend one of the musical performances which they put on some evenings as I would imagine it would be... More

Once my husband read about St. Stephen's mummified hand in the small chapel here, we had to go. The church itself is incredibly ornate and beautiful, but the small chapel to the left of the altar holds the "Holy Right," as it's called. It's in a special bejewelled miniature cathedral on a platform for viewing. 200 HUF turns on the... More

Make sure you go at sunset, the Basilica starts to be illuminated gradually by a soft hue of blue/purple and looks amazing on a still night. More
