The basement has remains from Roman times, mostly statues, inscriptions and mosaics. The ground floor describes life in Hungary in prehistoric times. The upper floor describes life in Hungary from medieval times to 1990. I found the museum well laid out and everything easy to follow and understand. We went to the National Museum just to view the 20th century section and found it very mixed. The early years are covered better than the later years, which is disappointing. For example, Hungary's extreme right wing ruler, Admiral Horthy - who took the country to war in support of Hitler - is treated very sympathetically. There is NO MENTION... more
