Went to see Tosca on Sat 18th it was magical, the building is unbelievable the acoustics great, we paid about £40 each for a box, the one right next to the stage. It made hair stand on end, note perfect. I would tell anyone to go and see a performance.

Opera tours are everyday at 3pm and 4pm, you can also get an option for a mini concert. You can pay for a photo licence, we didnt do this and where not stopped from taking photos of the building. The Building is just as stunning as the other we had seen on our trip and if you get the chance... More

If you don't want to see a full performance, you can take a tour of the opera house [about an hour] and finish it with a mini concert. We were there last week and enjoyed a couple of arias sung by a superb soprano. Equally, if you want to see an opera or ballet, tickets are very reasonably priced and... More

It was fantastic! We watched 3 operas - in german with hungarian subtitles and in italian. So if you don't speak those languages, you can always find a libretto in the internet and read before the performance. That was really amazing experience, the music is awesome, the singers are very professional. The tickets - we took at the balcony -... More

After having a look into the opera house, we decided to attended an opera - Tosca. Before the performance we googled it and found http://www.opera.hu/en/Tosca/cselekmeny. My husband and I do not understand neider latin nor hungarian, so it was very useful to get to know what was going to happen. During the 2 brakes we could walk around and look... More

We chose an Spanish guide and it was an nice surprise How that woman could be so interesting telling the story and also be so entertaining in a perfect spoken Spanish!! She made the Opera tour one of our best visit in Budapest The only cons was that you cannot take pictures inside the Opera hall if you do not... More

Party of 8 lads in Budapest for a long weekend. Decided the opera house was worth a visit but not the tour. Why pay to walk around with a bunch of old dears and at the end hera a 5-min warm-up. No way, Madame Butterfly tickets were going for 4000HUF for 8, that came to 1 quid fifty! Now these... More

Having never seen an opera before we booked tickets to see Toska. Didn't know what to expect but loved the whole experience. The building is fabulous, the tickets are so much cheaper than anywhere else, the forty piece orchestra were amazing and although we didn't fully understand what was going on the singers were so impressive. We had drinks and... More

A lovely Opera House and a lovely performance. Black tie not needed and a suit is most usual, though there were a few people in T shirts!
