My wife & I visited the signature Fisherman's Bastion as part of a walking tour on Castle Hill the morning of Saturday 5/10. We loved the whimsical architecture, the many outside, elevated walkways among the parapets, & the spectacular views in all directions. We'd strongly recommend taking time to do this, despite the crowds of tourists. Visiting Matthias Church, the... More

We didn't even realise we had visited Fisherman's Bastion until we got back to the apartment afterwards and saw pictures in the brochure and realised we'd been there. So, it's not signposted clearly and is a little underwhelming. Also a lot smaller than I imagined. The view is exquisite, but it's not the only place with a view in Buda!... More

The place is very beautiful like a fairytale. The views are extraordinary but is a very crowded place, half of is occupied with the restaurants and the upper part can be visited with a ticket. Is not worth the money, the vies are the same and the place is empty. It is just for tourists..

Loking for a wonder place to spend the morning, meander along on this path of beauty overlooking the hills of Budapest. Great scenery of the Danube and parliament building in this city from high.

Don't pay to go up - I'm not entirely sure the views are any better up there! The Bastion itself is a great architectural wonder, the white stone contrasting against the blue skies. The views are great if you can get around the tourists for a photo and the open spaces offer a lovely place for a rest.

The place is indeed lovely. The fairytale architecture with wondeful view of the city reminds a little bit of the castles described in the fantasy books. It may be easily imagined, that a place like this could have been built by dwarfs or elfs.

Great food accompanied by a very good winelist. Attentive waiting staff and a good sommelier made everything very pleasant. But... please ditch the cheesy violin duo, please!

People often ask me where to go for a nice view when they are in Budapest. Well we have two higher hills that offer nicer views, the Gellért hill and the Budai hill. Though Gellért hill is higher, the second one has lots of beautiful streets on it, the Matthias church is also impressive, but still the best thing is... More
