We had a city tour which included the castle hill. The views from the top across the Danube and Budapest are amazing and make the trip up the hill well worthwhile. There are plenty of tourist shops and cafés as well. Also do visit St Matthius church with its amazing ceramic tile roof.

The view you have come to see is this one. Plenty of opportunity to see the view with out spending the extra euros.

This is a great place to visit: the views of Pest are breath talking, one can fully appreciate the architecture of the Parlement across the Danube. The walk from the Chain bridge is easy - just up several flights of stairs to get to the palace and the Fishermen bastion. There was a lot of construction all around the hill... More

There are many places in Budapest from which you can get a brilliant view of the skyline but none more so than this. It's less hard to walk up to than the Liberation Monument and the views stretch further down the Danube, allowing you to see the Parliament better for instance, whilst the whole complex has something for everyone. Food,... More

A must see when you are in Budapest. The views are amazing views looking down at the Pest side of the Danube. Buda is the high side of the city and Pest is on the lower side. You need a tour guide to get the full benefit of this attraction. Be aware that there are a lot of people visiting... More

Until you visit here you do not realise how big this area is. Indeed, we spent some 4/5 hours wandering around here and taking in the sights - firstly, it's the view over the Danube and Pest then there's the actual Castle (now mostly museums and galleries), the Castle Theatre, Trinity Square, Matthias Church, the old Town Hall, the Vienna... We stayed at the Hilton on Castle Hill and was able to enjoy the sites without heavy tourist traffic (9 a.m.- 6 p.m.). If you aren't staying on Castle Hill I suggest you come around 8 a.m. and enjoy the beauty as well as explore all parts of Castle Hill. If you're in Budapest, this is a must location to... More

The views are out of this world, amazing. The view of the Danube and the city are outstanding. The buildings and the churches are amazing. The people, the food all great. The drive up and down gave great views. Tour guide very knowledgeable. Needed to spend more time up there.

Castle Hill itself is a little underwhelming. I mean, if you've got time and you're in the city by all means go and have a look. The changing of the guard is pretty interesting. Mostly theres an amazing view of the city from atop the hill. Perfect for photographs!
