It's a nice park for a stroll or a run, so much different from the rest of the city. In my opinion it's worth to rent a pedal car to see it properly, which I didn't do and regretted it miserably. There's also a bus that goes through the island (number 26). However, there were a lot of abandoned infrastructures,... More

Great park in the middle of the Danube River. Walk out there or take a bus that goes all the way to the furthest tip of the island. Great gardens, fountains and pools (at the Palatinus to swim in if you buy a ticket). Plenty of food vendors, and restaurants to enjoy. This may be an all day affair so... More

A great place to have a stroll away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. We walked in via the Margaret bridge and spent about 2 hours on the island. There are some cafes to enjoy and if you like dogs there are plenty of them being walked here.

Great place to go for a run if you are into running. Other than that there isn't that much to do although would imagine it's better in the summer. The running track is great with lovely views of Budapest and easy on the legs. Would definitely reccomend to all runners out there!

we went on the island and found it run down with everything closed. However there were pedal cars to rent which were really fun and makes it worthwhile! It worked out £4 for half an hour for the two of us!

Hired a pedal car to travel round the island - lots of laughs, though a bit hard on the legs. Stopped half way round for a cup of mulled wine - what's not to like?

There is nothing that spectacular to do on this island, but the triple bridge leading to the island is worth seeing.

We were here in the middle of winter so it may not be a fair critique as lots of things were closed, but it seemed a strange place rather lacking in atmosphere. There are some marginally interesting bits, a gigantic hotel that frankly seemed past its sell-by date, a marvellous water tower looking rather incongruous and a couple of old... More

We walked onto the island from the far end after travelling there by Metro....... which is an experience in itself :-), and I was immediately struck by the beauty of the situation, the uniqueness, it was a bit deserted really being winter & there wasn't much open so this had an impact but,,,,, I could imagine that in the summer... Calling fitness lovers, there is a jogging track measuring exactly 5k around the island that allows you to take in the views while going easy on your knees. Highly recommend and easy to find!
