This place is an idilic getaway within a city. Swimming pools and walks, a running track around the island(hard to spot) a small zoo with local birds etc. it's really a great place to go relax, walk and explore. It's always busy as the locals use this a lot too, which is always a good sign. Easy to get to... More

A great little retreat. Easy to find. Little something for everyone, they even have a zoo. Little disappointed in the facilities but it is off season - the outside trail was blocked off, so you couldn't walk and see the Danube. Bike trails were not separated from the walking trails so pedestrians were constantly dodging vehicles. There was no visible... More

As part of the Hop on Hop Off Bus ticket we arrived by boat and then wandered round the island finding our way back to the Margaret Bridge. Lovely park area and sports facilities and hardly any traffic except a few service vehicles. Bikes and other peddle powered vehicles available for hire. Some great statues and fountains.

Very interesting park. Great ruins and history. Even a children's zoo. Worth a few hours. An oasis in the middle of the Danube.

Wow the fountains were amazing and surrounded by autumnal coloured trees and sunshine where better! Park was much bigger than we thought and visited twice but still failed to see it all

With two weeks in Budapest, we had plenty of time to explore, and we gave ourselves a full day to walk along the river to Margitsziget and explore this attraction. There is a bit of everything here, a spa, a water park, sports facilities, a hotel, a musical fountain, a ruined church and monastery. In other words it was not... More

After almost boiling walking around Budapest the previous day we decided/I was instructed a relaxing day in the park was in order - it was surprisingly good fun! There is a tram stop on the bridge, just beside the steps down to the island. There are quiet walkways, secluded sun traps, bikes for hire, beautiful gardens with the real highlight... More

We were lucky with the weather as it's a lovely park to stroll around. We also hired an electric car for an hour to your around the island which was fun.

Everyone says about it being a lovely retreat, all peaceful in a giant park, but most people visit during the day.The island is beautiful during the day but at night around the fountain is spectacular, a free water/light display to music and most people miss it. A great place to sit and unwind at the end of the day.

Margaret Island is an oasis of peace in the middle of a very busy city. We visited on a Friday morning after breakfast and spent about 2 hours there. There is no entrance fee and we walked the whole time but you can also rent bikes or small pedal cars. They have a japanese and a rose garden as well... More
