If you're on for a long walk or just want to get a minute of rest switching off from Budapest's veins? Look no further - visit this little island on the Danube and jump to another universe looking at the architectural awesomeness of the buildings on the river.

Nice place to get away from the city but still very close. We walked one end to the other but wished we had hired bikes as they were cheap and plentiful. Well worth a visit.

Go there and enjoy your time while listening to music and fontaines dancing whilst it is sounded. Catch sunny day and allow yourself be a child renting a tri-cicle to ride across the island.

As part of a river boat trip we got dropped of at Margaret Island for the afternoon. It was a beautiful day therefore we could enjoy exploring all the island had to offer. Renting a bike is a must - I hadn't cycled in years and I had a great time cycling round the whole island. Also a great park... More

went on an AWFUL pirate themed boat trip, got off at Margaret Island and it was so worth it. can sit next to the river with a beautiful view of the parliament buildings etc. a few bars, rentable bikes and shows in the centre meant we ended up spending our whole day there. the history is really interesting as well.

If you have the time, plan to spend half a day on Margaret Island. The best way to see the island is to rent a "family bicycle" and explore at your own place. There are plenty of things to see and the farther in you go, the less tourists you'll see. Afterwards, soak your feet in the fountain (don't worry... More
