Fisherman's bastion and Margaret Island are my two favorite places in Budapest. It's really nice when it's sunny outdoor. There are a lot of people here, but you can still find a place for yourself. Regardless of the crowd it' seems peacefully. Green in the park relaxing and you can take a rest at some bench and watch other people.... More

My love for nature always trumps Architecture. I am a student of design, always learning and soaking in the beauty. yet my true nourishment is nature. My soul replenishes in the quiet of the moments, when you hear the birds chirping and the animals rustling in the brush hidden from view. The island is a sanctuary. I spend my day... More

We decided to have a walk there in the afternoon, getting to the island via Arpad bridge which had A LOT of traffic generating even more noise, and it was also very windy up there. As soon as we reached the island, both the noise and the wind disappeared, it was a wonderful transformation. Since it was a weekday there... More

Went in the Winter time to Budapest to avoid the hordes of tourists. The park was clean and quiet with little noise from the city, me and the Girlfriend had a nice walk around to end our holiday then we left to catch our flight home. Highly recommend for a peaceful break from the city with maybe a picnic. Obviously... More

A very nice place to visit, especially during spring. You can sit back and relax on the grass and see the Danube river. Very friendly for bicycles!

We visited in April on a warm day and it was perfect for a quiet stroll in the middle of an otherwise busy city. We walked across the bridge to get there and really enjoyed the tranquil surrounds, the mini zoo and open parklands. The running track is nicely finished and you can rent bikes or electric cars to explore... More

There is a hidden gem in the middle of the Danube, it is Margarit Island. You can take tram 2 to the end just past the Parliament building and walk halfway across the bridge until you get to the stairs that will go down to the island. There is about a 4 mile run on a single lane tartan track... More

We really enjoyed margaret Island, peaceful stroll through flower gardens and a Japanese garden. Lovely icecream. And my partner and son had a nice swim in the hotel spa. Avoid having a massage there though, I had a guy with long nails give me a foot massage and it was really not good

We had great expectations of spending a half day exploring this green space and then enjoying a drink or two before traipsing back across the bridge to the tram stop. We visited in the second week of April - it was at least 23 degrees C- but unfortunately nothing was open! The musical fountain that we had heard so much... More
