The island is in the middle of the Danube is an oasis of calm if you wish and can be great fun for children and adults where bike and electric scooters can be hired. Have a glass of mulled wine for 420 forints to warm you inside. Go to the Grand Hotel for dinner with music. Have been there many... More

The Margaret Island is very important for the citizens of Budapest as it's an easy accessible recreation area. The island has lots to offer, but most of it is open only during the summer period, like the pool, waterpark and the small zoo. There are some other sport establishments as well. It’s a long time since I’ve visited the place... More

If you are a runner island could be great, otherwise spend you valuable Budapest vacation time elsewhere. The island is filled with decrepit Soviet Era facilities that are boarded up. It has a Japanese garden with non Japanese style plants and a Greek statue sitting in the water. Budapest has so much to offer, this isn't it

Had a great time walking over the bridge to the park. Great pizza at the cafe and very cold beer too. sat and watching the sun go down. Watched all the lights come on up at castle Hill. Just a really fun time. felt VERY safe being on foot.

I went here a few years ago! After the hustle and bustle of the city centre I jumped on a boat and went to Margaret Island. The boat went down the Danube and we all got about an hour walking around the island. It was very quiet even in the height of summer. A nice break! Coincidentally I met my... More

Peaceful place, had a really nice walk trough island ( visited there in March). Near old monastery was amazing tree, we had never seen so large one! Minizoo was nice surprise. I can imagine that in later spring there's really beautiful, with all those plantings etc.

Nice little island, though not that green during spring. Nice to bring some food and sit down. There is lots of joggers here so don't walk in the jogging path. I think it is best to travel here during summer. Much more that is open at that time.

It is an interesting island, at the entrance of Budapest. One can walk or ride a bicycle there, in the middle of the Danube.

Margaret Island was for a long time a desert island in the middle of the city. A lot of interesting legend and secrets about Margaret and about her island. :) Nowdays every- day and time you can meet a lot of people - running, walking, doing different sports. It's a special meeting pont of the residents of the capital, particularly... More

It's a nice park for a stroll or a run, so much different from the rest of the city. In my opinion it's worth to rent a pedal car to see it properly, which I didn't do and regretted it miserably. There's also a bus that goes through the island (number 26). However, there were a lot of abandoned infrastructures,... More
