Caught the boat out here, as part of a hop on bus ticket. About 20 minutes to get there, nice ride. The island is... ok. It is basically a giant park. There are formal areas, lawns, playgrounds, a swimming pool, cafes, a couple of hotels, a little zoo, and so on. It wasn't really my thing, as it all found... More

We walked the length of Margaret Island one day and while we didn't spend much time there we wished we could have spent more! It is a great public place, with kids play areas, quiet natural spots, running and walking routes, and even ruins of an old church which we stumbled upon and were delighted to explore. Wish we had... Enjoyed this visit too. We hired an electric car for an hour and we went around the island. It was very relaxing.

We took a boat ride to the island and 'discovered' fountains that rhythmically shoot water. At the top of the hour, this occurs to music. Wonderful synchronization of the music, which is varied, and the fountains! It must be lovely in the evenings. We also rented bicycles and toured the island. They are creating a new soft running track around... More

A good walk from where our ship docked, the park had a lot of reconstruction of walk ways and jogging paths going on. It was a about 7 kms around. Childrens Playgrounds and a musical fountain. There is a bus #86 that is free for all passengers over 65 with proof of age, which we did not take but should... More

The island is beautiful in summer, with gardens, a huge swimming centre with pool and other water attractions. The walkways are shaded by trees, so you can sunbathe on the lawns or wander in the shade. There are cafes and hotels on the island. Come autumn, though, everything closes, the gardens adopt their winter look and the whole place is... More

A nice place to spend the afternoon. This Island is surprisingly big. It has two swimming pools,,a play park, a theater and a casino. We just went here to enjoy a nice walk in the park. You can hire bikes and electric cars if you want to and there is even a bus that goes around the Island. There are... More
