Great park to walk or run around. Fantastic views of the river and some of the outstanding architecture of the city. Recommended.

The whole island is a park with a swimming pool in the middle. Actually it is more of a rec. center. You'll see all kinds of people on the Margaret Island: joggers, tourists, couples, dog owners, children. When you come there you loose track of time. First you sit on a bench and look at the Danube river flowing by,... More

This is the most impressive place in Budapest. Between two sides of the city ( Buda & Pest) you can walk, run or sit in the middle of the green park and watch the amazing environment..You can listen to the birds singing and breath a peaceful atmosphere..Definitely love it!

As part of the Hop-On/Off bus tour you get a free boat ride to the Island where they drop you off and pick you up 2 hours later. With the package you also get an hours free bike hire which we used and it was great. The Island is about 2.5km long and about 500m wide, doesn't sound that big... More

Our family visited this park today. We had fun riding the family style bike around the park and were glad to do so because we didn't realize just how long the island was! It's nice and green and the old ruins were super neat...but the playgrounds were just ok and there wasn't much food (thankfully we had brought a picnic)... More

Trees, flowers, birds and water. All you need to relax and enjoy a sunny day without the stress of the city. I've spent a whole afternoon there. It was refreshing. If you are with friends, don't forget your Frisbee or your volley ball. Great for a picnic too.

Although this is very much a scenic attraction in itself, we spent a beautiful spring half day ambling about the island. The gardens, parks and recreational activities are ample for all age groups looking for time out in a beautiful green space very close to town. The snack food was clean and reasonably priced, and there are lots of bins... More

Every summer we jump on our bicycles with our picnic basket and go to Margitsziget! There is everything from gardens to wide open spaces for football/volleyball, horse-driven carriages & other fun for the kids, swimming pool and athletics track as well as places to eat & drink. It's the perfect oasis for a laid-back afternoon in the summer sun and/or... More

We caught the boat over to Margaret Island and spent a couple of hours in the gardens, a lovely little oasis away from the noise of the city. We hired a cycle car for two (not sure what the proper name is!) and had a hilarious time cycling round the gardens and covered more distance than we would have on... More

I think this will always be my favourite place in Budapest. If you have spent the day running around visiting the sights, it is the perfect place to stop, take a deep breath and just unwind. From the newly refurbished fountain, the various eating places, the cycle hire, and the small park at the north end, it is the perfect... More
