If you like to run, run the promenade to the Chain bridge. Crossing the river on the northern side you will be able to take the ramp down to the island. It literally has a tartan track running path around the perimeter of the island! After a full loop if you have more fuel in the tank, get back on... More

The island is usually crowded with runners, even in winter. Reason enough for this, as the island offers a very nice and (for most parts) well kept track around the borders of the island. Conveniently accessible on foot and by tram.

We visited last August with a group of friends and had an amazing picknick with food and drinks without being disturbed by anything. There is lots of space so you can feel isolated if you want to. There are great little cars to rent if you want to tour in the island and also there are great pool facilities for... More

Walk there on a weekend. Couples, families with children, entertainers, food carts, fountains, trees, shady walks. Would've given another star if the vendors had more variety of beverages (only basic water and sugary "fruit" juices) and better ice cream. Minor detriment. It's a place to see the people of Budapest and to experience a city at play.

A fun little island to stroll about if the weather is nice. There were also some nice marked jogging&running paths along which was an added plus

We visited on our last day and spent some time wandering aimlessly around the island. Such a relaxing and peaceful place, in summer it looks like the lido would be amazing! The 'zoo' stretches the definition considerably but there's a few animals there to look at.

We walked around the island and the view is very nice. Quiet and peaceful and there is a ruin there. It is a nice place to see the River Danbue.

The bikes made it far more interesting as most things were closed for winter. The gardens and park were nice and there was a mulled wine stand in the middle of the park.

This hotel, The Danibus, had some wonderful amenities! The thermal pools were relaxing and serene! As were the other aspects of the water areas (sauna, cold water pool). The 4-hand message was a pleasant experience. However, the room was fairly standard and a bit outdated. It had a smokey smell and when I complained to the front desk staff I... More

If you have some spare time, Margaret island is close and easy to get too. It's fairly peaceful and its free to get onto. Most people either just relax or hire a bike to ride around on. If you want you can use one of the ferries which leave in the centre of Bedapest and take it down to the... More
