Anyone who visits Budapest has to travel on this tram! It begins at the Margaret Bridge and wends its way past Parliament and along the Danube. You get magnificent views of the Buda side set off by the Danube and water-fron tin your forground. It makes you realize just how beautiful Budapest really is. You can travel on it to... More

All the guidebooks give the impression that THIS is the BEST way to see Budapest. It seems to me to be the best and most efficient way of getting from North Pest to South Pest. It is scenic, but in my opinion, a hundred times nicer walking along the Danube promenade or the roadsides. This is a lazy and quick... More

Take it from one end to the other and it will set the scene for your panoramic overview of Budapest. Can smell a bit of weed sometimes, and make sure you check that the seat isn't wet before you sit down as sometimes homeless people ride it at night for "forty winks". Having said that, don't be put off, it... More

This tram starts at Jászai Mari tér on the ring road and runs the length of the Pest embankment. Passing the Parliament, the art nouveau splendour of the Gresham Palace and the Chain Bridge, it is in full view of the Castle Hill over the Danube all the way. The famous central market is on the line, but don't forget... More

Take tram 2 for a great view over the Danube, the Buda hill, the Pest corso and it goes around the Parliament as well. At festivals they 'dress up' a few trams with light bulbs, looks really cool. Love the signal sound also at each stop. More

My son --who studies in Budapest now -- had the idea to hop on "tram 2 "to enjoy the sights of the city from a streetcar. He even told us the best side to sit , so we can enjoy the view even better . The ticket is about 200 Ft , about a dollar so a really inexpensive way... More

Don't take a tourist bus for 15-20 EUR. Buy a 1 EUR ticket, and sit on this tram and you will see 90% of the tourist sights of Budapest. Better still, go after dark and see the sights lit up for surely the most beautiful views you can find for 1 EUR More
